Well they help keep you at any temperature you want. Sweaters: Warm/hot T-shirt: Warm but cool Long Sleeved shirt: Warm Etc.. Also they help block out parts that people might feel uncomfortable with and no one really wants to see that stuff.

(most) animals have fur which is to keep them warm when us humans don't have fur so we need something to keep warm with

Also When an animal gets hurt, they won’t feel as much pain as we do because our skin is thin and is over a layer of nerves while animals have a fur/scale/feather coat so there is an extra layer piled on so there is more resistance
