I've seen some stuff about the inconsistencies of Sonic's shoes so here's my idea. Baby Sonic did have red striped shoes, he remembers them and he loved them, but then he grew out of them or something. Later, that kid gives Sonic shoes that look just like the ones he had as a kid, he feels nostalgia and maybe other feelings
