Rain looked bored, as she took her feet off the table and pulled her hood up over her dark hair. Walking towards the street, a light drizzle began to fall. "Shit," she muttered, and began running. A car suddenly sped toward her, and he turned, a deer in the headlights.

Rain panicked, as the car slammed into the blurry white object. "What the ****!?" She yelled at the driver, and scooped the dog (?) into her arms, attempting to shield her from the rain.

Rain placed the canine on her bed, as she was now home. Running her fingers through the fur, she closed her eye, whispering something. A strange multi color energy ran through her hand, feeding life to Mina.

Rain looked somewhat startled, but the familiar rainbow glow to her eyes had dimmed. "My name is Rain Erikson," She had a light Russian accent when she spoke. "I brought you here so you wouldn't get run over again." Pausing, he wondered what the driver had been thinking. "You got hit by a car," she added.

Rain smiled, laughing quietly. "You're a cute one, aren't you?" Scratching her behind the ears, Rain studied Mina carefully. "But what are you?" (and yes, @FireFoxi, you can join, if you find a way to fit in with the story)

"Hmm." A door opened from in the other room. "My friends are home," Rain yelped. "They'll be able to help you heal fully, but you have to hide for now, Jacob doesn't react well to animals."

Two people entered the room. They were both shorter than Rain, but not by much. One of them had deep red hair, short and coming down past her ears. Freckles and a a tan line ran over her nose, bringing out her icy blue eyes. She wore mostly purple. The other, a boy, wore a deep blue sweater and orange scarf. His hair was a deep brown and was short and tussled. His eyes were also blue. "Hi Jacob, hi May, Rain said with slight nervousness. May frowned, her eyes narrowing. "You're hiding something." Rain cursed. "Goddamn it May."

Sighing, Rain whistles, a sign for Mina to reveal herself.

Jacob yelped, scooting behind the red head. "Oh jesus christ," May muttered, pushing her twin off of her. Strolling over to the dog, she kneeled down. "What happened to you?" She asked softly.

"It's ok," May reassured. "You can trust me." Smiling, she gave her a sly look. "I'm an Animangi, I can turn into animals." Pausing, she thought for a second. "One animal, actually."

Wincing, May looked her over. "There aren't any deadly wound, but the shrapnel could poison you over time." She shot her brother a mean look. "Oh no," Jacob protested. "I promised I would never do it again."

"Jacob!" May and Rain barked in unison. Groaning, Jacob finally agreed. Cautiously, he stepped forward, his hand slightly reaching out. "I can read memories," He muttered. "And they use my ability to find out peoples anatomy so we can help them."

"We all have special abilities," Rain stated. "We call ourselves the "Line Walkers." Jacob gently placed his hand on Mina's nose, his eyes going white as he read her memory. "We walk the lines between human and inhuman."

Rain and the others had noticed the flashes of light, but assumed it was part of the buildings' faulty lighting. Jacob removed his hand from Mina's nose. "She doesn't have anything that's poisoned, but it might be better if she stayed with us for a while." His eye grew suddenly soft and warm. "I don't want this little one to get hurt."

"What the ****!?" Rain shouted, leaping up from the bed. "The hell was that thing?!" (sorry for the cussing, but it's part of Rains persona)

May waved a hand at the others, telling them to be silent. "You can come out," she called softly, her voice had almost an echoing, musical ring. "We won't hurt you."

"If you need to May," Jacob whispered;"You can always turn into-" May cut him off. "I'm not using that." Her voice adapted to the overlapping tones again. "We just want to see you."

May looked almost desperate. "Ok, um, blink once for yes, two for no. If I show you what I am, will you come out?"

May sighs. "You can't hide like this. Friendship isn't built on lies, it's built on trust." Stepping away from the others, she let out a heavy breath. "To prove I trust you.." May turned her head and smiled at Mina. "Both of you... I'll show you what I am."

"Thank you," May says smiling. "But I'll still show you."

(oh ok) May took a breath, her arms shaking. Suddenly, an extra pair emerged from beneath,unfolding and hanging at her sides. Opening her eyes, two more opened above them, the same size and shape.Long and sharp fangs slowly folded out from her mouth. Half spider, half human.

Everything retracted back into May. "Like I said, Animangi."

Rain hummed, running her hands over Mina's ears. "Because of my eyes, I have the ability to give life. Jacob can read memory, and May can turn into a half-spider." Jacob nodded respectfully. "Do you by any chance, want to stay with us?"

Rain smiled. "I understand completely. I was alone most of my life, until I found May and Jacob." The twins grinned in unision. "They told be what I could do and how to use it." Jacob gasped suddenly. "Ooh, we can be like Scooby-doo! We can go solve mysteries and problems with our abilities!" May rolled her eyes. "You didn't actually watch that show, did you?" Jacob paused. "No," he admitted.

The human trio stared in awe. "In all my years," May whispered. "I've never seen en elemental Animangi."

(an Animangi is either a human who can turn into an animal or a mythic animal with the mind of a human) Rain could see in the two creatures eyes, they could commune in their mind. "Not everyone is a mind reader, May," she hissed in the red heads ear.

"It's ok," May echoed, stooping down to Solars' level. "You can trust us. All of us."

"We won't hurt you," Jacob promised, his cheeks stretching into a warm, freckled smile. "We just want to know where you came from and what you know about being an Animangi." May added, softer in her enchanting tones.

"We understand," Rain pressed. "But the powers you have are dangerous. If left unchecked.." Her voice trailed off and suddenly all three humans looked worried.

All three gasped at once. "****," Rain shouted. "****!" Spinning around, she almost creamed in Mays' face. "I thought this was going to be a small scale Erin situation, now we're bringing ****ing god into it?!" Jacob stepped in front of May. "Don't you dare talk to my sister like that." Everyone looked ready to explode but May, who looked incredibly guilty.

(SCREAMED OMFG)

"Everyone calm down," May said as calmly as possible. "Erin happened because of us, this could happen because things beyond our control were set in motion." May turned to Solar. "Do you know what your powers can do?"

May stared, then grew suddenly, surprisingly angry. "What have you two done!" She yelled at Rain and Jacob. "We could have helped him, instead you want to scare everyone we meet off like you did with Erin!" Rain slapped May full on in the face. May stumbled back, holding her cheek in utter shock. "Erin happened because of you," she spat, and stormed out into the pouring rain.

May heard the silent cry for help and ran out the door, searching in the down pour for the Animangi.

Rain sat beneath a tree, her everything soaked to the bone. She sobbed silently into her arms,her shoulders shaking.

Rain attempted to control her sobbing, covering her mouth and quaking.

Calming down a little, Rain buried her face in Mina's fur. "I shouldn't have yelled at May like that," she mumbled. "Erin wasn't her fault."

Rain hiccuped. "We were all so close friends," she whispered. "May, Jacob, Erin and me. We solved problems together, but one day.." Rain gestured out into the oncoming sleet of water. "Erin couldn't control her powers. The government found us, and put Erin down." The girls' rainbow eyes watered again. "After that Jacob scrambled everyones memories so they couldn't remember her, but we all do."

Rain wiped her face. "We need to go back inside, hopefully May found Solar." Gathering herself, Rain stood and walked back towards the house, the rain letting up, if only slightly.

The inhuman smiled down at the dog. "Why do you follow me, I wonder." Turning back ahead, he frowned slightly. "I'm nothing special anymore."

"No one?" Rain tilted her head curiously. "I've been around a long time. I've seen humans change, views, ideals." Her voice took on almost an old tone to it. "The world is always changing, but the one thing that never does is love." Her shoulders seemed to sag. "Somewhere, something loves you Mina. That person is me."

Rain giggled slightly, before pushing open the door. Jacob sat on the ground, a mess. "May hasn't come home yet," He said shakily. A phone buzzed from somewhere in the room. A purple cellphone lay on the table, vibrating violently. Picking it up, Rain stared at the texts that were coming in. MusicIke22 May, where are you? MuisicIke22 You haven't answered your phone for hours. MusicIke22 Please, Im getting worried. MusicIke22 My brother just told me he found this girl in the woods, said her name was Erin Perdu. You know her? Rains' heart skipped.

"Erin.. is alive." Rain breathed heavily. "Alive. I can't believe it." Jacob hook his head violently. "No way. I saw her die in front of me."

"Erin died in 1931. It's 2018, Rain," Jacob reminded her. "There's no way she's alive." Rain thought for a moment. "She had the power of creation, maybe she could have come back as a ghost?"

Rain noticed her furry friends' confusion. "We're um.." She paused before she could get anything out. "Immortal," a voice called. May sat in the window, her legs swinging over the balcony. "Me and Jacob were born in 1789, Rain in 1822. Erin was the only one who was her real age."

"Inhumans have long life spans," May explained further. "We live forever unless we're killed. We don't age past a certain point, either."

"Erin lived for 16 years, before she died. I'm sorry Rain, but there's no way she's alive." Rain swallowed the lump in her throat. "Then why did Ike text you?"

"I.." The red headed Animangi trailed off. "I don't know. Maybe she did come back, but we can't get our hopes up."

"What is it girl," Rain asked softly.

Rain almost tripped over her own feet. "Where?!" She asked hurriedly.

"Ike, actually, but she's right." May stated. "Rain, do you have anything of hers?" Rain blushed, but she nodded. "Of course I do." Walking over to the closet, she pulled out a puffy white sweater.

May laughed, it was beautiful and heartfelt. "Ok, Mina." Rain stepped forward with the sweater. "Can you find her?" There was a strange, aching look in her eyes, like love had long died out.

May chuckled. "Honey, you've got a big storm comin'." Her extra arms unfolded and she lept out the window, swinging across the trees.Jacob grabbed his skateboard and set off. Rain simply ran, her legs pumping and moving fast.

Rain panted, hoping they could find her, the girl she so dearly loved. "You smell, or rather, sense anything Mina?" She called up.

Rain's heart pounded. What would Erin look like? Would they even be able to see her? Was she a ghost or just a rotting corpse? Rain shook her thoughts from her mind.

Rain glanced around. A small clearing with a pond was illuminated by the setting sun, the rain had stopped long ago. "Where is she?" May dropped down from the tree, her arms retracting. Rains' heart sank slowly.

A small timid voice rang out, with a French accent. "Pardon moi, but who are you?" Rains' face brightened visibly. "Erin, it's us. It's me, Rain." No answer. "How do you know my name. I don't remember you."

Rain started breathing heavily. "Show yourself please." Nothing happened. All of a sudden, a girl popped into thin air. Her hair was long and blue, messy and tangled. Bandages were wrapped around her chest and arm, with blood stains on the sides. She had no legs, only mist enabling her to fly. Erin.

Her eyes were a brilliant dark grey.

"Erin, please. It's us." Rain stepped forward, her hand reaching out. "I remember nothing." Erin looked sorrowful. "I'm sorry."

Rain looked so desperate. The girl she had waited 87 years for didn't remember her, and the friend she had made was suffering. "This was a mistake," she blurted, and ran. "Rain! Wait!" May called after her friend, but she was gone. "Dammit," she muttered.

Rain sat in front of a small lake, skipping stones. Each one went farther then the last. "She doesn't remember me, Mina," she blubbered mournfully. "I spent years feeling responsible. I give life, but I couldn't save hers." She chucked a rock into the water, and it splashed loudly.

(And I'm hoping my crush will get with me, even though she doesn't like girls that way. I think she's warming up to the idea though.)

"I traded one life for ours." Rain looked guilty. "When she was shot, Jacob told me it was too late. He scrambled the memories and we ran. Erin died. We didn't"

"We've hidden our abilities since but.." Rain began to cry. "Nothing matters. I feel like I've lost Erin twice now."

"Hey, hey, hey." Rain ran her hand over Mina's ears. "It's ok. You're an Animangi, not a mistake. You're different is all." (Can you rp like this please? It's just a pet peeve I have ^^)

"I felt like that too," Rain said. "I found May and Jacob a long time ago, or rather they found me." Smiling slightly, her fingers ran through the white fur. "When we found Erin, she was so pretty and young. Her powers, we assumed, were under control." Rain pulled a locket from her jacket. Inside was a picture of four teenagers. One of them had long red hair, with extra eyes and arms. Another had slicked back brown hair and a mystic looking robe. A dark skinned girl next to him had long black hair with a deep blue streak on the left. Her outfit was a crop top and skirt. The last one wore a puffy grey sweater, her ruffled blue hair covering most of her face. Her eyes were a pretty grey. "I had life, May had her Animangi powers, Jacob had memory, and Erin had creation."

(I got to go again TvT) Rain murmered softly. "Nothing belongs anywhere if you think about it."

(Ok) May stared desperately after her friend, but it was clear she needed to blow off some steam. "Excuse me," Erin called from above them. "I saw a fire fox earlier, he said he was looking for you?" May gasped, realizing her mistake. "Solar!" She exclaimed, and set off, projecting thoughts in her mind. 'Come on little Animangi, where are you?'

May grew worried as she searched, panting as the forest grew less thick. A sharp whine emerged from the bushes. May parted the leaves, glancing down. Solar lay there, a normal fox, the once bright fire that burned drenched. "This isn't good," May breathed.

May scooped the fox into her arms, beginning to walk back to the house. Erin and Jacob appeared at her side. "Who is that," Erin inquired. "A friend," May smiled back.

May began to panic. "Rain!" She yelled. "We need you!" Rain perked up immediately. "Does that answer your question," she said at Mina, and began running in the direction of Mays' voice.

(Sorry it glitched on me) Rain skidded to a halt in front of the red headed Animangi, who looked worried. "Help," she gasped. Rain quickly placed a hand on Solar, her eyes going white. Multi coloured energy flew through her hand into the fox,feeding life. When it faded, Rains' eyes were less bright.

Rains eyes traveled over to Erin, who floated happily above Jacob. Blushing slightly, she turned back to Solar. May set him down on the ground. "Sorry for scaring you, little guy," May said.

"Not everyone," May warned. "If people who aren't like us found out what you are, they'd kill you. But you're safe with us." The trio of humans nodded in unision, and even if it was by instinct, Erin did too.

May smiled happily. "Animangi are few and far between nowadays. I was suprised to find one today, of all days."

"Hear.. what?" Jacob had been mostly silent, but now he spoke, his voice rougher than usual.

(oooh) "Of course we do!" May said happily, before Jacob could interrupt. He groaned, muttering something about not wanting to stay here, but listened anyway.

(k I'm caught up) Rain perked up suddenly. "Mina?" She called out worriedly. "This isn't good," May muttered. "Erin, can you find her?" Erin nodded. "I can try, mon freres." She fazed into the ground, and May turned to the others. "Spread out. Find Mina." May pulled out her phone, staring at the texts. Frowning, she hurriedly typed a message. VioletCarrots5 Ike, I need you to come over, fast.

Rain saw the hunters that had her friend. Growling, he yelled at them. "Back off or I kill you all!" The hunters laughed, but from the tree lines May lept forward, her arms unfolded and fangs bared. "Wanna play?" She growled, and hissed loudly.

Using her bottom left arm, she pulled her phone from her pocket. VioletCarrots5 Let's just say I haven't been honest and I need your back in a fight.

Rain brought her hand up, her eyes glowing. Bringing it down with a slam, the energy exploded, sending the hunters flying. May lunged forward, her teeth sinking into ones neck, biting out his jugular vain and hitting his head so hard blood spattered when he hit the ground. Dead. May spat out most of the blood, but her face was stained red, as were her clothes.

"No!" May screamed as she watched the bullet travel through Solar. "I got this," Rain shouted, and heaved a ball of life at him.

"No.." May stared in shock, then grew incredibly mad. Roaring, she lunged at the hunter with a gun with fire in her eyes, plunging a hand into his chest and ripping out his heart. Hi body thumped to the ground and she snarled at the others, who ran in fear.

The guilt swarmed over May. Another one. She lost another friend.

Rain staggered on her feet, the feeling of another loved one dieing sinking in to her.
