honestly looking at art better than mine can make me feel bad sometimes but when I observe it rather than admire I can help myself improve little by litte

I can see what makes that art better than mine and try to impliment it into my style to try and improve

and I have to say LEARNING TO DRAW REALISM DEFINITELY HELPS TO DRAW CARTOONS trust me I started out wanting to draw realism rather than cartoons honestly but now like cartoon styles and having spread my skills in art has helped me

ah I just feel like giving advice

also these are sort of quick doodles I guess trying to work out another cartoonish(?) style from some animator I like

I guess I just got a random rush of night inspiration and motivation

also since these are sort of like sketches, although my normal art does take longer I guess this is just an easier sort of style for me even if it's not too different

compare the limbs to each other when drawing are they the same length measure the top and half section of each one and compare if one is bent and the other isnt like upper arm on both arms should be same length and same for lower arm, no matter how they are bent

remember, legs are slightly longer than arms, but not too much

also, try drawing all different sorts of facial expresions it can really help

stand up and put your arms at your sides if you ever need a quick reference

try to draw hands, but simple ones start with a circle or square, whichever you prefer (squares are usually more helpful with more realistic styles) and then do fingers in sections remember the thumb is weird draw an oval like shae on the side of the hand for where the thumb comes of at just test out different ways to draw hands sometimes I just draw circles, or nubby fingers with my noodle arm styles

and once you generally get basic hand shape down, draw hands at different angles, fingers curled differently try to draw a hand snapping, that is a challenge I have yet to do successfully

if you can, get those wooden models of things, but don't get cheap quality ones I bought a hand model, and of course, it can't be moved in all posotions a real hand can, but it's still helpful the tip of the pinky fell off though even if you can't buy a model, look up references constantly use your own hand or someone elses hand if you want

and please always make sure you have the thumbs on the correct sides of the hand make sure you have your lefts and rights correct it can be hard because I've seen so many people, even amazing artists, make this mistake, but I guess I just have the superpower to instantly know which side of the hand the thumb goes on, I don't even think about it

ha not trying to brag but yeah it just seems natural to me to know where the thumb goes, but not for some others I guess

a while ago I used to ake that mistake but idk what happened just know that it's a farely common mistake and you shouldn't feel bad for it, it's normal
