You try desperately to make a small straight line, [but you aren't straight] (sorry) and when you succeed a small straight line, you stop. Then continue going small line by small line until you get to the place you want to stop. That way if you mess up the straight line, you only have to press undo and it will remove a small portion because you did it small piece by small piece. Does that make sense?
