Flare ruffled the top if Zeke's head," You're willing to put her in danger like that? Some husband you are." He joked," Well, i'll see ya in the morning, ask Amber if she wants to come." He trotted off and to the tent he and Moon were sharing. He curled up against Moon's back and fell asleep quickly.

Amber peeked her head into the tent," There you are! I'm about ready to pass out, so i'll see you in the morning Zeke." She walked up, kissed his forehead and was turning to leave.

Amber looked a bit confused," Sure, about what?"

Amber blinked. Then stared. She was really REALLY quiet," uhh," She shook her head," Sorry, that was just a lot to process. Um, so, I can go with you? I would love too, but at the same time i'm worried because my tribe needs me.." She rubbed her face with her paws.

Amber rolled her eyes," In *our* tent?" She yawned," I'm going to sleep on this decision, i'll decide in the morning." She turned and walked off to the largest tent, which was decorated in flowers. "So what did she say?" Flare fluttered down from above," She coming or not?"

Flare flew back to the tent him and Moon were sharing. Moon was already asleep, curled into a small purple fluff ball, in the corner of the tent. Flare lied down where he could see out the tent flap, and stared up at the stars," Good night May." He whispered to himself as he too, fell asleep. The next morning Amber woke up extra early and slipped out of her tent. She grabbed a bag from one of the storage areas and packed it, then ran back to Zeke," Zeke, hey, wake up sleepy head." She nudged him with her nose.

Amber patted his paw," Sorry! I didn't mean to scare you, I packed you some stuff for your trip." She set the bag down between them," Zeke, I... I really wanted to go, to get to know this new you, so we could be together again, but.... my people need me. I'm Chiefess now. I don't want to up and leave everyone. " She looked down at her paws," But please be safe, I also told my brother to pack a new boat for you and your friends."

Amber hugged him back," I love you too," She pulled away," You should get going, right now is the best time to sail because the winds are calm, and please be careful of the rocks." She looked like she was about to cry but she rubbed her eyes," There's food, some throwing knives and some clothing in there." She strapped the bag onto his back," I'll miss you." She walked him out to the beach where Moon and Flare were sitting. Flare had gotten a new set of leather armor, and a sword was strapped to his side," Ready to go?" He asked Zeke while he gave him a pat on the shoulder.

Moon waited until they were all boarded onto the slip to set off," Bye Zeke!!" Amber shouted. She waved until the beach disappeared from sight. " I can't believe Zeke got married," Flare laughed," Like, I was going tp be forced into this marriage and you SWOOP in and steal her haha!" He laughed, and punched Zeke in the shoulder," Good luck man, from what my dad says marriage is no fun." " He said that??" Moon whipped around. "Joking! Only joking!" Flare said quickly.

Flare jumped back,” hey dude calm down! You’re gonna be fine, once this is all over you can go back and learn more about her and the tribe.” Moon turned around,” I only know that they worship a different set of Gods than me and Flare do, some of the older tribe members were talking about Tifiki, the goddess of the ocean I believe, so that’s something to talk about with Amber.” Moon continued to steer the ship in the right direction,” we should be at your homeland in three days if we follow his map,” she pointed with a claw,” I hope you boys are ready,”

Flare nudged Zekes shoulder,” it’s gonna be okay, we’re going to get May and leave, I’m sure it will be fine.” Moon maned the ship as flare lied on the deck on his back. His wings were open so they could get some sun,” it’s kinda peaceful if you think about it.” He said to Zeke with his eyes closed.

“Is there a lot of guards at your dads house Zeke? Do I need to kick some ass while we’re there.” A smile creeped onto his face,” imagine how I would look, sweeping in, fighting, grab May and swoop off... sounds like an old knights tale huh?” He opened his eyes and looked over at him,” Does May like that kind of thing” he asked. “ I never thought I would see the day that my son has called head over paws for a girl.” moon laughed from the top deck. “M-Mom!” Flare groaned, blushing.

Flare jumped up and flicked his wings,” I think I’m going to go fly around the ship then, I’ve been wanting to spread my wings for a while.” And with that he jumped off the deck and onto the sky, swooping into the clouds. “Zeke darling, come here and chat with me why don’t you?” Moon called from the top deck.

“ We’re you going to say something to Flare? You looked like you had something in her mind.” She looked over at him and unfolded her wing, gently rubbing his back with it,” if you can’t tell him you can tell me dear.”

Moon laughed,” oh I promise, if he ever did anything to hurt little sweet May I would be the first one to spit some fire into his tail.” She looked out to the open sea,” this... reminds me of my own adventure, from when I was young.” She sighed, suddenly looking very upset,” I lost my best friend on that adventure.” She whispered.

Moon nodded a bit,” Yeah, I just miss her a lot. It was a tradition that the rest of the group would visit her grave once winter turns to spring, but Reese’s bad leg has kept us from going, and I feel guilty for not paying my respects.” Her eyes started to water,” She was an amazing woman, and such a wonderful witch, we could have never survived without her.”

Moons smile grew slightly,” Her name was Kiri, and she was the sweetest woman I have ever met. She was the witch in our group, and though when we first met she was mediocre, she grew to be a powerful magic user. She was the only other girl in the group, so we loved doing girls days together.. my favorite was when we picked out dresses for each other on the night of the Firework Festival.” She sighed, remembering the memory fondly. “ There was Reese of course, the main fighter of the group, he was just a big goof, and always a charmer. Alexander was the brains, knew pretty much everything, and lastly was Finn. Our archer, and the strong silent type. He was the one that took Kiris death the hardest.. they were dating for a while before she died..”

“Well, Reese and I got married of course, Alexander became a head professor at the highest university in the Starlit kingdom, he married his childhood sweetheart, and as for Finn? He just... stopped showing up to our meetings at Kiris resting place.. I haven’t seen him in years..” she looked off into the horizon.

Moon sighed,” To he honest Zeke, I don’t think he wants to be found.” She looked up at the sky, which was starting to darken into dawn,” you should be getting some rest here soon. Flare will be back, why don’t you go below deck and lay down?” She sounded sad, almost, empty. “ I think I want to be alone with my memories for a while.”

Moon lied on her back, doing the same thing that Flare had been doing. As the starts specked they sky the tiny splatters of silver in her wings and tail plume flickered with them. She could feel sadness flowing within her,” Kiri? I know you can hear me.. I just wanted to tell you I miss you.” She stared at the sky above, as a single tear trickled down her face... and more tears followed.
