LinkITS SO VIBRANT ON HERE JESUSS
Forgot abt this but Ok ok ok the most basic thing u needa know is that the edge of the fold would be lighter and the fabric below the fold would be darker. Do NOT make everything soft shading since then it won’t look like there’s any folds at all. Don’t be afraid to put shadows immediately under lighter parts with no middle color, the only parts you need to do soft shading on would be parts that are smooth with no folds or where unfolded parts connect
You should line the folds before shading so you know where to put shadows when rendering. Your drawing has barely any defined folds and the ones that are there are shaded like hard plastic rather than folded fabric. Make the hilights go past the lineart! That way it doesn’t look like you’re just outlining the lineart which makes it look a bit flat
It helps to learn how fabric works first, like where it gets folded depending on the pose and movement. It’s surprisingly easy to learn. Just look at yourself in a mirror while wearing different types of clothes (thin flowy material, thick and stiff material, ect) and just move around n pay attention to how it folds. It’s always fun to view irl things through an artists lens and to think of how you can copy it while drawing
