LinkEveryday life is normal.
Nothing wrong, nothing weird.
But that changes when you work in a lab.
Key walked around, gazing at all the test tubes arranged neatly on the walls. His small white paw itched to re-arrange them in color order, but he resisted. He was notoriously clumsy, and the bottles looked so delicate he was afraid of going near them. “What if, y’know, an experiment escaped?” he asked suddenly. He turned to his two friends, the keys on his tunic clinking gently as he turned around.
Gold glanced up from her perch on the floor, her red-streaked black hair falling in cascades into her eyes. She swiped her hair impatiently out of her eyes and continued to pour acid onto the linoleum floor. “If one does escape, I just hope it’s not E-13.” She didn’t look at him as she said this, making a careful design on the floor with the acid.

LinkThe small blue cat sitting on a nearby table flicked his tail at her. “Stop pouring the acid on the floor,” he snapped at Gold, who brandished the flask of acid at him. He scooted away from her and continued talking. “And it’s not like it’s going to escape. That thing is in high-level clearance. Why would it escape?”
“Porsha, are you scared or something?” Gold taunted, putting the stopper back into the flask and placing it back into its stand.
“No,” he replied, “but Key asked!”
“Well,” Key said thoughtfully, “It’s still possible.”
Porsha flinched. “You don’t mean that,” he replied. Key shrugged and continued walking along the row, glancing at the labels of the glassware.
“Porsha is scaaaared!” Gold taunted.
“I’m NOT SCARED. Maybe YOU’RE scared an’ that’s why you’re teasing me!” He glared at her, his yellow eyes narrowing. Gold shrugged, but her cheeks were red.
“Maybe if- maybe-“ she stammered.
“If what?!” Porsha cried. “Tell me!”

LinkGold just shook her head. “Never mind,” she muttered. “You’re a waste of my breath anyway.”
“HEY!” His blue fur was fluffed so he looked twice his size “You little—”
“OK! Ok, you two, that’s enough!” Key interrupted, “Let’s get back to work. We’ve wasted enough time-- and acid,” he added, glancing pointedly at Gold, who gave him an innocent look. Key shook his head and padded over to a pc that sat, waiting, on the table that Porsha was sitting on.
Gold rolled her eyes. “I hate our boss,” she muttered. Key laughed. “I don’t much like him either, but—”
He was interrupted by flashing alarms.
“WARNING. SECURITY HAS BEEN BREACHED. WARNING. PLEASE REMAIN WHERE YOU ARE. WARNING. PLEASE REMAIN CALM.”
“AAAAAAH!” Porsha shrieked, “WE’RE GONNA DIE!”
“I thought you weren’t scared,” Gold replied, but she was pale.
“STOP that!” Porsha cried, shoving Gold. “This is NOT THE TIME FOR THAT you PEST!”

LinkKey pushed his way between them, getting through just in time for Gold to backhand him across the face. She stopped and covered her mouth, shocked. “Oh no! I’m so sorry!”
He shook his head. “It’s ok. Just-- stop fighting. I know it’s scary but if we stay here, we’ll be safe.”
“Or DEAD,” Porsha wailed. Gold looked ready to try and slap him again.
That’s when the lab door creaked open.

PLEASE GO FOLLOW THE ORIGINAL CREATOR OF THIS! They deserve so much more attention and credit than they have.
