LinkThere's so many things about FA that annoys me to the core. I'm not saying names, nor am I trying to side with anybody, as this is supposed to be like, a formal(ish) complaint about the site. And before I get any "Why don't you just leave?" comments, I cannot. I've been using this site since 2017 and it's the only "social media platform" that isn't supervised by my parents that I am allowed to have. It's also the only place I can draw digitally, only until I move out of my parents house once I have a stable income/career. I have friends here, I love how much this site has pushed me to grow as an artist. But there are some things that need addressing. SOme of it is triggering, so I will let you know when.
1) The Pride in the LGBT community here.

Linkhomophobic or transphobic or lying about being trans/LGBT. Points have been made by people who aren't emotionally involved with anyone on this site, and it's ****ing shit. The way the site always gets riled up over the religious homo/transphobes, the way that it becomes the talk of the ****ing week just for it to drop out of everyone's mind the very next day annoys me.
All this activist shit you guys do for the LGBT community is great, yes, but why are you doing it here? The most you're going to do is drive them to take a break. It's starting to annoy me and I know this won't stop anytime soon, so do not affiliate me in any of these situations anymore, unless it regards my dear mutuals, and I will list them after I'm done complaining.
ANOTHER THING ABOUT THE LGBT COMMUNITY OF FLIPANIM-
The constant fight between the bisexuals and pansexuals on the site needs to ****ing stop. I'm sorry, I know I have been a part of that fight too, but like I said, it's tiring. Don't involve me in this either.

Y'know what this does for people, all the bickering over "which sexuality is better for trans folk" is (1) annoying, (2) transphobic, and (3) simply creating more and more panphobia and biphobia in the community and outside the community and THAT'S NOT THE GOAL WE WANT FOR THE LGBT DO WE?? NO.
Someone very close and dear to me made it apparent that this constant bickering has made them scared to come out to me because of how panphobic I was acting.
They're very special to me, I love them with my whole heart, I wouldn't wish any pain or strife on them, I love my little ladybug, so that hurt. I was bringing them pain and worry. I was so hurt that people bashed on MY sexuality that I didn't consider THEIRS and I was being a very crappy person. I'm working on myself right now.
The bickering on the site can leak into real life, is what I am saying. It really needs to stop.

2) The Race issue
This one's not that big in my face but let me just say, stop. Just stop BULLYING those advocating for black lives on this site. I, as a half-black, half-Latino boy, get very uncomfortable when I see that shit because it reminds me that things haven't changed. Please,please please stop-stop bashing on my brothers and sisters for their race, please stop bashing those who are trying to use their privilege to help us. I cannot stand it watching people say these hurtful things about us beacuse we simply have different skin tones. please. This doesn't just go for those bashing black folk, this goes for everyone who thinks it's funny to make fun of minorities in general.

I have my own racial issues in my wonderful homes city, and as a biracial kid, I am in this constant loop of "Is he black enough? Is he Latino enough?" along with the occaissional slurs and bullying. I'd rather not stress myself more with FA'S stupid ass racial bigotry. Like I said before, do not involve me in these things unless it regards my safety or my mutual's.

First of all, I am NOT shutting up nor leaving myself out of this one, ever.
Hi, Name's Andres, I am a kid with abusive parents, (no, they don't just yell at me) and I am at risk for an eating disorder!! I'm not romanticising it, not saying shit like "*cutely starves myself*" or "*cries cutely under my bed while I hide from my parents*" because I would never think that anyone would ever want to have parents like mine nor and eating disorder.
But the constant "UWU I'm Dewpessed and I have abusive pawents" shit annoys the hell out of me, its triggers me sometimes, and I see FAR TOO MUCH OF IT. Most of the time you hear from these kids (yes, children) who "have" abusive parents have been told "no" by their parents, or because they didn't get what they want.
If you genuinely want to know what I experience, I'm sorry, but it's not fun.

LinkThe thing is, there's about two(ish) people who even know about, i'll say 1/6 of what happens to me because there are things that bring back such painful memories, and to see kids just waving the mental illness/abused flag around like a proud achievment makes me upset and not want to eat.
And the rape/suicide thing? The WWYDs with rapey/suicidal undertones are disgusting. Rape is not something that I have personally experienced, but I have a brain, and I don't make it seem like it's cute. I have had some family members commit suicide, so that also triggers me as well. It makes me want to vomit everytime someone throws pastel clors and flower petals on suicide or other touchy subjects, as if it's cute and trendy and not something that should concern people. The more and more you make it "cute" the less it seems as an issue and then there's less help/support for people with mental illnesses, with mental/eating disorders, who are survivors of rape/abuse, with suicidal tendencies.

I will not involve myself in it like, all the time, but if you see someone who genuinely needs help, I can try my best to help them. I want everyone to know that even if I do not know you personally, you can come to me if you ever need reassurance or someone to vent to. I'm not the best with advice, but I can try!!!

Everyone here, (not leaving myself out) acts so ENTITLED to likes and appreciation and the constant "CARTOON ARTISTS ALWAYS HAVE THE SAME STYLE" or "FURRIES ARE TAKING OVER THE SITE" shit is ANNOYING. SHUT UP LITERALLY, STFU, YOU SOUND LIKE A THREE YEAR-OLD IN DAYCARE WHINING BECAUSE ANOTHER KID GOT A SNACK AND YOU DIDN'T GET ONE YET!! WE ALL SEEM LIKE ****ING SPOILED BRATS WHINING CONSTANTLY THAT MOMMY AND DADDY DIDN'T GET THEM WHAT THEY WANTED!!
All I have to say about how to fix this is learn how to draw in other styles. Just do it. I personally think every artist should have flexibility with their styles. I have about 7-8 artstyles I rotate every now and then. This is the best advice I can give anyone. If you specialize in furry art, start off small and try out cartoony human styles before progressing to realism. And vice versa.

Uhm, while we're on this topic, if it doesn't bother you too much, I have a question ahout my own situation.
Because my dad always tells me that I'm a failure and he would never expect anything great from someone who'll probably fail high school. He tells me thatbhe won't support me if I choose to go into art in the far future because it's a waste of time and impossible to do. And so he also always tells me I'm a shitty dumb kid that he's given up on and that he's glad my sisters are around so that he has some hope. He yells at me a lot, and sometimes gets physical and will grab me and shove me or smthn, and idk if trauma is the right word but it has made me afraid of touching people kinda. And well basically it's just all wack and yknow just stuff like that. But then he also is my dad and he pays for me to live in a nice house and I know I should feel grateful to him for being such a good parent but I can't even bring myself to tell my family i love them because of him and ugh, this is too long lol-
Your father is emotionally(and somewhat physically) abusive. I'm so sorry you have to put up with that. I really am.
