Linkso, essentially the only rules for them are that if you want to make one, just credit me when you do. they don't really have any color restrictions, but blue and green are the most commons colors.
asides from that, you just decide.

Linkand yes, i know that the reference image i drew above looks bad, but it takes like 2 weeks to draw anything good and i'm not doing that
The eyes really correlate the entire creature. It seems to be well adapted to a swimming capability!
