Lantern wasn't apart of the qt squad, she knew it. She wasn't upset, she helped on the side, doing odd jobs and helping keep them in healthy conditions. She had left on a vacation and wasn't coming back for a week. Or she thought. She had been getting an awful feeling that something was wrong. She couldn't tell what, but she knew something wasn't right. She left for home hoping her gut was wrong, but the fires blazing high and the war in the streets only proved her right. Lantern ran inside, hoping no one was inside. There was someone, but they were laying on the ground, still. Lantern understood they weren't getting up again. She winced at the sight of bullet holes in the walls, her once beautiful happy office now in disarray. She saw the note that was left on the table by the squad when they left on the call. She gasped at the address left on the note. She recognized it. All too well. Lantern had read about this in a newspaper. About locals being kidnapped and experimented on.

Lantern wished it didn't come to this. She was scared for her friends. She was starting to blame herself but stopped. Blaming herself wasn't going to help. Lantern knew what she had to do. She grabbed a raggedy scarf, since it was getting colder as the night drew darker, and left. She wasn't prepared for what was ahead, but she knew what to expect. If Waffle was out there, Lantern couldn't let him go alone, he'd need help. She only prayed the squad was safe from whatever was in there.
