-Don't make them super cutesy, not all of them are like that
-Not all of them have pale skin, dark skinned asians exist. If you can, avoid making ONLY light skinned asians
-AVOID FIELD WORKER STEREOTYPES (rice/peanut/factory workers) unless you are POSITIVE that you can flip is
-Not all are from China/Japan/Korea, do remember this
-Not all Japanese folk like anime

LinkAS FAR AS BLACK FOLK:
-Avoid naming ALL of your ocs things like "Ladasha" or "Dequayveon", while, yes, there are people here in the world named like that, many have European or African names (even Hispanic names too!!) so, naming a black kid "Archie" might not be so bad
-Avoid AVOID AVOID the hot cheeto girl stereotype. Not every black teen girl is loud and eats hot cheetos at 7 am.
-Avoid whitewashing: As in, don't make them too much like your "Abigails and Brandons" (white ocs). There's a chance that yes, they act a certain way due to the environment they're in, but they cannot completely relate to white folk.
-Avoid making black males parts of gangs. It's over used and also very harmful in the portrayal of black men.
-Avoid making too many single mothers (while yes, there's many in the world, a black oc with both parents is good)
-Avoid making too many absent fathers (c'mon. You know why)

Link-Avoid the Watermelon stereotype: I call it that, as in, many black folk do enjoy things like watermelon, chicken, cornbread, etc, not everyone does and black folk do have certain dietary diversity!! My friend is black and vegetarian!! I don't like gumbo, if we're honest. Dietary diversity is a yes!!

-Not everyone!! speaks Spanish!! Some of us understand but don't know it!!
-AVOID NAMES LIKE JUAN, JESUS, & MARIA. THESE ARE OVERUSED NAMES.
-Not every Hispanic person is from Mexico! Many Latino folk, like me, are from/descendants of people from places like Colombia, El Salvador, Venezuela, etc.
-We don't eat hot sauce with every meal, avoid making it seem like we do. pls
-Avoid shitty dads. Most hispanic/latinx fathers are good, but strict! they're sweet (especially to their daughters) and they simply want what's best for their kids. Yes, there are some hispanic fathers who are shitty, but it'd be best to avoid them
-Avoid the "Spanish Lover" stereotype. BRUH not very hispanic person is sexy and smooth and knows how to salsa with you into the sunset
-Quinces are for Catholics. They're Mexican and Catholic! if your female oc is neither, then avoid it. Don't do it.

MORE MIDDLE EASTERN STEREOTYPES:
avoid believing that:
-all middle eastern people are terrorists
-all men in the middle east have multiple wives
-the islamic religion is violent
-everyone in the middle east is muslim
-italians are from the middle east (i've seen this one floating around and though it's not as big as the others, it's still false since italians are from italy in southern europe, not the middle east)
-israel is a complete zone of war and it's not safe to live there
-everyone in the middle east owns and rides camels
-there are no fair skinned middle eastern people (not a big one either but i've seen it)
-all armenians have nordic blood/are of nordic descent
-every man in the middle east wears a turban and will cut you open with a curved sword

many of these stereotypes seem like common sense. I've seen many used and it really ticks me off. Like even Hollywood and other productions always make their Latina protagonist some form of over-sexualised, "salsa into the sunset" character. Same with the dog eating thing. Eating dog isn't even common practice (in china at least) and is frowned upon by much of the population.
Yes thank you man!! I Can't say much for Black/Middle Eastern culture because i have very little experience for it aside from my anthropology courses. However, i have plenty of knowledge in Chinese and Hispanic culture

So I'm Hispanic and can speak Spanish but I can't read it well and don't get me started on writing it so it annoys me when people ask me to speak it out of no where a n d when they think I can read and write Spanish perfectly-

nope! i have many black ocs who represent something "negative" but i also have quite a few who represent something positive. As long as you balance it out, it's good!
Excuse me, I have a question. Would making a hispanic character who has slight "attitude" or not "100% nice" be racist and have people think "Oh crap, a gangster!!!"? Because I have a hispanic grunge character who slightly has "the bad girl aura" but I don't mean for it to make it seem like she's a gangster or an actual bad person. TY!
Also destroy the stereotypes for personal aesthetics and body types for POC. Make tall and thin blacks who adore vintage dresses. Make South American Latinx who work for the government. Make blemished Vietnameses who rock out to punk rock. Tall pacific islanders who spend their free time indoors and decorating. The list goes on. There's more personality to a person than "color".
