Nala woke up as her owner leaves the house.
“Yes! Play time!!” She pulled out her toy, the rubbery orange ball rolls across the floor as she chases after it.
And meanwhile, in the house next door, a researcher has a small penguin as her pet. "I will be back soon Skippy." she says. The owner leaves. "Ugh I am so bored when she leaves. Maybe one of the neighbors is doing sumthing fun. Just how do I climb out that window?" Skippy asked himself.
Nala’s ball slips from her mouth and she runs for it, out the back door and into the fence.
CLANG!
“Ow... where did that ball go!?”
Finally, after several minutes of trying, Skippy manages to slide outside. He jumps onto the soft grass. "Which neighbor should I visit?" he asks. "A neighbor whos owners gone of course..." He had to choose between the hard decision...
Nala noticed the penguin standing in the grass and barked.
“HEY YOU!! HIIII”
Skippy jumped back in surprise. He wasn't used to such loud barking. "um.. Hi." Skippy smiled. "can I come over to your house and hang out?
“Ooh! Yup! But make sure you be super quiet, devtion is in the other room and she doesn’t like other animals.”
Nala ran to the gate and dug out a hole.
"Who is this DEVOTION?" Skippy asked. It made him a bit frightened just to know another animal was in the house. Also it scared him every time anything said didnt like animals. "I will be quiet but I just need to know. If she's a cat I understand." Skippy looked frightened.
“Yup. A very strict cat too. But don’t be scared, she won’t try and kill you.” She laughed.
"Um you sure?" Skippy asked. "The sound of being killed is kinda scaring me. But is you say so!"
Nala hopped around playfully and noticed her ball. She ran for it and picked it up.
“Wanna pway wif ma baw!?” Nala asked through her toy.
"Um, how do you play?" Skippy asked. The new ball thing interested him
Nala dropped the ball and sat in front of the orange slobbery rubber.
“Ok so when you play, we just chase the ball! Sometimes, the ball bounces off the fence into different directions, and that makes it even more fun!” She rolled the ball over to skippy’s feet.
Skippy stared at the wet ball. "Ok! Um but I must tell you. I'm a bit slow."
Skippy looked at his feet embarrassed.
“Well it’s ok, I’m a bit of a slow poke too.” She turned to side to reveal her left leg was replaced with a metal fake one.
"Oh Wow! How did that happen?" Skippy asked. "It looks painful!" Skippy frowned
“I don’t know... I over heard my owners talking about it one day though. They said that my leg had to be amputated at birth because of something.”
27 opened his eyes in annoyance on his undersized bed. “You guys mind? I’m trying to sl... that’s not normal. What the heck happened to your leg?”
Nala looked up at the house.
“Oh hello there! Wanna play ball with us!?”
“Oh.. well then we can come see you!”
Without a second to waste, Nala grabbed Skippy and hopped over the gate.
“I”M COMING UP!”
With that, Nala jumped onto the chair and onto the top of the patio roof. She then shuffled to the edge and jumped onto the main roof and started to head towards the window in an army crawl.
"Are you sure IM not going to fall off?" Skippy asked. He was riding on top of Nala.
“Ok I’m going to jump! 3...2...”
Nala beaver herself to jump through the window
Skippy held on tight as he could. He closed his eyes and he was afraid he was going to regret this
“1!”
Nala jumped through the window, crashing onto the floor as Skippy fell off into another part of the room
"AHHHHH!" he yelled, but his fluffy feathery body had protected him from getting hurt. He sat up, a bit dizzy, but he was fine. "Nala?" he asked. He stood up. "Nala where are you? 27 where are you?" Skippy was about to regret the jump.
Nala pokes her head out from a bunch of plushies.
“Aah! HAHA! That was fun!”
"Maybe he went to sleep in another room." Skippy said. He brushed himself off.
“We should go then. One time my owner got mad at a friend for going in her place without permission, I think that goes for us too...”
"Probably but did we just jump fur nuthing?!" Skippy was a bit mad.
“... sorry... Well if it makes you feel better, we can just go through the front door?”
Nala opens the door with her head and made her way down the stairs and stood before the front door.
Skippy stands on top of her and reaches for the doorknob. His little flippers barley manage to open it. "Yay" he said
Nala walks out the door, kicking a broom on the way out which closes the door behind them.
“Alright, now let’s go and find some other friends to play ball with!”
"OK!" Skippy smiles. He waddles down toward a house that was green and red
An angry blue cat stands before them. Her eyes were fixated on the two pets.
“Oh hi Devtion! How are you today? Wanna play ball with us?”
Skippy began to slowly back away. "W-We just want alot of people to play ball." Skipper stuttered. Devotion scared him even more than he imagined.
“I don’t want to play ball, I want to know why you are out here; and WHO is that?!” Devtion glared at Skippy.
“Skippy, on 3 we run to the woods. She’s pregnant so she can’t chase after us.” Nala whispered.
"Ok." Skippy whispered back. His eyes went back and forth between Nala and Devotion.
"Nala go back inside, I'll deal with this." Devtion stepped closer.
"THREE!" Nala grabbed Skippy and booked it for the woods.
"Haha! We actually did it! I thought we were gonna die or something!" Skippy laughed. He had a giant smile on his face
“Yeah, the last time I got caught outside my owner put me in my crate.” Nala chuckled as she looked around the birch forest
"Oh that sounds a bit tight." Skippy said. "Is the crate small?"
Skippy watched as a dove flew over them
“Yeah it’s a bit tight, but they don’t really mean for me to have a small crate! They probably are busy trying to find me a bigger one because last night, I didn’t get dinner.” Nala smiled at herself. “Very very busy!”
"Oh you must be hungry then!" Skippy said. "By the way Im also saying that because im hungry too." Skippy rubbed his belly.
“Oh oh! Let’s go to the city plaza!!I remember going there once with my owner and they got burgers. The guy who gave it to them gave me a free patty.”
Nala wagged her stubby tail and her tongue hung out from the side of her mouth.
"Um you might think Im dumb but.. whats a burger?" Skippy asked. He had just gotten to america, so he still didnt know much.
“Oh, a burger is a beautiful thing! It’s like uhhm...” Nala looked up to see a billboard in the distance with a burger plastered on it. “ That! That’s what a burger is”
"IT LOOKS YUMMY!" Skippy drooled. "Oh, sorry. I just like food a lot!"
“Same here. But I don’t know the direction of the city plaza... we need to get higher but we can’t climb trees or fly...” Nala pouted.
"Yeah if only somebody had a pet bird that is strong and fast. If I could fly." Skippy had a dreamy look on his face
an eagle crashes into a tree and then its wings dont work and its owner helps him and he go's through challenges and then it flies and grabbes a dog and helps it
Nala flinched as she saw the bird hit the ground.
“Ah! Oh man are you alright?”

Then the eagle suddenly brought them to the plaza. "thanks" skippy said.
“Oh I see the stand! Let’s go!” Nala races over to the party stand and barked, getting the mans attention

The man looked at the two animals, then picked up the phone and gave them patties.
“Oh cool! Food!”
I’ll be a whatchamacallit creature* with a long neck and dots for eyes that has no eyebrows
*whatchamacallit creatures are animals or humans that wear Groucho glasses as part of their face, they’re made of boxes, and their heads are paper bags. they also wear the arrow through head headband as another part of their head.
