LinkSelf diagnosing is only valid if your doing it to tell a official doctor what you’re experiencing.

LinkYes research is good in order to understand what’s going on with you but it shouldn’t be all you’re going off of

LinkBack when my brother was a kid everyone knew he was autistic but when we took him back to the doctors they found out he was epileptic as well. Sometimes doctors see what you don’t and it can be dangerous to not consult a doctor or medical professional if you have concerns
+ especially if you're also planning to buy medications based on your research and stuff because it's really risky
A lot of people have told me that I may have autism or adhd and because of that instead of them "officially" saying im one of these they decided to wait till I'll get my diagnosis on may
Like they didn't immediately went all "yup. You officially have adhd, end of story" instead they were more like "I have the feeling you may have adhd but it's better to get the diagnosis rather than assuming"
tbh i think self diagnosis is valid when someone takes the time to fully research whatever they feel they have from multiple creditable resources and dont try to like convince themselves they have something
Exactly, it's good to figure out what you suspect is up with you, but then get a diagnosis of what you suspect
Like I've conferred w friends and family and they think I have adhd or autism or something similar/both but I'm yet to get a diagnosis or anything (kinda cuz I can't cuz my parents don't like wasting money on stuff like therapy and diagnosises 🤷♂️) but I'm hoping to get some diagnosis at some point
Oh fr? Might look into that actually
I can't concentrate for shit in class and generally don't understand how the teacher explains stuff unless it's explained in a more specific manner along w sensory issues (I think that's how you say it) which are shit to deal with so it might help a bit
One of my other friends w sensory processing disorder is allowed wear noise cancelling earphones as of recent because she got permission the school
Hopefully I can get some sort of idk accomodation or help
