its good to be on good terms with people who hurt you, that helps you heal, but that doesn't mean you need to forgive them for what they might've done.

if they change, that's great, but you're still not obligated to forgive them. let's stop with the idea that people *need* to be forgiven when the effects of their actions might still be sticking around somewhere. even if they aren't, it still probably did at some point. that's still important.
