(Chapter 1) There was screaming everywhere, people were clambering over each other to get to the escape pods, it was carnage. “GET THE CHILD IN”, screamed an elf maiden to her demon husband, the maiden had red curly hair and dark skin, green eyes glistening with tears, her husband a demon, with pale skin and dark hair and eyes, holding a small child, which was crying loudly. The parents managed to get their child into the last escape pod, but there was no room for themselves. “I love you, shay”, said the mother, planting a kiss on the child’s head. The escape pod closed and flew away into deep space, as the whole planet exploded in its wake.

(Chapter 2) Shay burst awake and felt her foster mother stroking her head. “Did you have the dream again?” Asked Layla with a pitiful expression. “Mhmm-“ answered shay, as she closed her eyes, “maybe I should just get up, it’s nearly my alarm anyway-“ Shay looked at her alarm clock and stretched (Continuing this later)

“I need therapy..” shay thought, as she put on her school uniform. She dashed downstairs as she picked up a sandwich. “See you after school!”, said Layla cheerfully, as shay ran out the door towards the bus. She sat in her usual seat; alone, at the back. She looked out the window serenely and watched the carts go past.

(Chapter 3) Shay sat on her usual bench, on her phone. It wasn’t a very bright day, the sky plain white with clouds. She spotted a boy about her age (14), looking nervous. They made eye contact and the boy dropped all his stuff on the ground. “You alright mate?”, shay called over from the bench. “Uhmm- not really-“ said the boy, still scrabbling for his things. Shay reluctantly got up and started helping him. The boy had pale skin and black hair, with white bits at the front, and beautiful amber eyes. He blushed in embarrassed. “Oh god not again-“ shay muttered under her breath, looking out in the distance. Three tall pretty girls looked at shay, giggling. “Oi shay! Got yourself a boyfriend?” One of them said, as the other two giggled. “No, Gabriella. Can I just ask you; why the heck are you bothering me” shay said, looking Gabriella dead in the eyes. “Oooo look who’s getting feisty” said Gabriella, “and hey there cutie, what are you doing hanging around this dump” Gabriella looked at Nathan and-

Bit her lip. Shay rolled her eyes. “I would say you’re the only ‘dump’ here” said Nathan (the boy), “come on let’s go” Shay followed him and stuck a finger I will not name at the girls. “So what’s your name?”, asked shay. “Nathan. Yours?” “Shay. Nice to meet you I guess”
