I usually choose to believe that they simply have trauma they dont remember, since, thats the whole point of did or osdd At least with those that actually have the other requirements for diagnosis

Yeah trauma holders and gatekeepers can hold things back iirc, for at least one of the major osdd types its not so much the trauma memories getting through, but less or no dissociative amnesia between switches But yeah idk why people would want a disorder like that its frustrating and shameful and confusing and can get you hurt Not smth anyone should want
