i had to use it to mix colors when it was just the old editor because i couldnt access the extra colors ✌️
some people use it for shading since it depends on the shade of the colour, for example. if you had a bright colour it would be under the black, but if its the other way around the black will be infront of everything else. However i dont use it that often since it can mess up the colour of the shade if its very close to whatever ur shading
I used that thing along with low opacity to shade, it ain't that useless
