Karma held onto Carlos’ hand tightly as they ascended the mountain, she didn’t even realize how high up they were going because of how steady the trail was going along the side of the mountain. Today she was quiet and reserved, how she usually was when she was anxious about something..though she couldn’t quite place her finger on what

Karma looked back up at him and gave him her nervous smile, bringing his arm in closer for her arms to wrap around and pull into her chest. She just liked having him close :3
he blinked slowly and smiled softly, looking ahead of himself "ah, i believe we're almost there" he turned his head to check the surroundings
Karma looked with him, sometimes she kinda looked like a puppy when she mimicked his actions unknowingly. She then looked back up ahead and bit her lip, mumbling “W-Were so d-deep into the woods now a-are you sure we won’t get lost..”
carlos's voice was kind and reassuring "it's okay, i've walked this path many times! my father also loved taking my mother on dates here" his voice was soothing and sweet, as he held karma's hand
She couldn’t help but let her lip tremble and a smile slightly creep up on her. He was so sweet to her it literally made her heart melt omg 🫶 she gently squeezed his hand and allowed him to lead the way without anymore complaints

Karmas fear took over and she tensed up, she kept looking from him to Carlos. She followed Carlos’ steps so he could get closer without alarming him. But the anxiety grew to be too much and she let go of Carlos, her eyes darting around as she realized she’d forgotten her phone..no way to call for help. She hesitantly spoke “P-Please don’t-“

j looked back at the two. his eyes were filled with hatred as he glared at carlos "what are you doing here...." j's voice was bitter
"J.... hermano.... please don't do this! please.... please not at our mother and father's old date spot...." carlos looked worried as he took another step closer towards his brother
Karma grew unsteady, feeling a bitterness inside her that she associated with anger and fear. She wanted to help but..she tended to make things worse. Whenever she got too overwhelmed, usually SHED end up bawling her eyes out and then the person who needed comfort would usually end up comforting her. She’d do everything in her power to make it up to them, but if this person who Carlos said was his brother..ended up doing it..then there’d be nothing to make up, just relentless guilt “D-Does it hurt yo-you to be here? Pl-please you can’t…”
carlos looked down at karma and gave her a quick kiss, putting his forehead on hers as he whispered to her "i'm sorry, but i need to do this really quick...."
J looked at the two, taking a small step closer to the edge
She could feel her heart racing, she didn’t mean it in a bad way but she pushes him away, she was terrified of the possibility he could end up hurting himself trying to save this guy. The bitterness in her stomach grew more and more unbearable as she looked to J, her eyes starting to tear up, whispering to Carlos “Pl-Please dont..do a-anything stupid..”
"i won't, Karma... don't worry" he softly cups her face in his palms before standing up properly to look his brother in the eyes, worry evident all over his face as he looked at j
j didn't care, clearly. he took another small step back "Carlos.... go away! i did something evil and you know that! i'll never forgive myself for your state....." he looked at his little brother, clearly trying to atone for something
Karma watched, not even realizing she was holding her breath as she trembled. If it came down to it, she’d happily put his own life above his, despite not knowing for sure if dead people can die twice…she bit her lip and listened quietly
carlos suddenly reached out to half-tackle half-move j, bringing him over and away from the edge more
the two fought for a while, but carlos ended up winning the battle, pinning j to the ground in victory as he gave him a small smack across the face

Karma whimpered, she'd never really raise her voice because she knew that when she did, her voice would strain so much it was hard to figure her words out. But she did, and her voice strained a little, but she was emotional "Yo-You don't get t-to act selfish till the end! I-if you want for forgiveness- then fight for it!"
carlos looked at her, absolutely shocked at the fact that she raised her voice, his eyes widening slightly. J stared at Karma too, shocked that such a delicate woman like her was yelling
Karma got closer, obviously she was more than upset at this point. Her hand that she’d literally crushed with a rock was dripping blood onto the ground but she didn’t even seem to care nor notice? She grabbed J by the collar and spoke with a little spite in her voice “Y-You can’t put the people yo-you love in more pain just because you-you’re too selfish to t-take the loss”
j stared at her in absolute shock, completely speechless. carlos watched the scene play out, leaving his brother to have to deal with her on his own terms
Karma pulled him down to her level, despite how frustrated she was, she looked..like she was about to cry? She was crying. She was scared for him honestly. Scared for her lover too, this whole situation was terrifying. If you paid attention you could see her legs were slightly trembling the whole time “Yo-You…you don’t g-get to put my lover through m-more pain..”
"why can't i pay for what i even did to my little brother?!" j looked at karma, his eyes wide. he was definitely shocked that such a petite little woman pulled him to the ground so easily
Karma was cute even when she cried too so it’s always hard to take her seriously unless she’s pissed the **** off and you can sense it. She pulled him into a hug, shaking as she hid her face in his shoulder, she was warm,,and smelled sweet like peppermint “Yo-you don’t owe him your life,,d-do you think that’s what he wants? When he we-went out of his way to save you..?”
he grunted as she hugged him, completely shocked by literally EVERYTHING she was doing "i..... i killed him....." j's eyes started to tear up, something that carlos hadn't seen in YEARS
Karma squeezed him gently, running her hand through his hair to comfort him, she had this..calmness about her, an instant wave of relief that you’d get when you were just around her..it was odd. She mumbled, calming her voice quite a bit “H-He still loves you..I-if you really want to m-make it up to him..yo-you can’t just throw y-your life away”
J's hair was short and fluffy, long enough to put into a tiny ponytail. tears started actively running down j's face "i-.... i-i'm sorry.... i just wanted to know the pain i put my family through......" he brought up his family, that being himself, Carlos and Penelope, and his mother. all of whom, excluding himself, had the same ghostly image
Karma continued her comfort for him, warmly nuzzling into him much like a cat would. Playing with his hair seemed to calm her down a bit too, such a sweet smile..it’s hard not to feel attracted to her aura. “Y-you’d only make them suffer more..I-is that what you want…?”
he was sniffling, trying to fight tears that were already falling. carlos then knelt down beside the two and looked at j with a sullen expression "don't worry about it.... you may have killed us, but honestly.... i feel more alive than i did before, plus, i'm known as a town mystery" carlos joked slightly, but he was also being serious, "but, for real, J..... you were angry, and you did what you thought was right and knew was wrong.... but i-... i don't blame you for it, hermano..... it's alright" carlos put his hand on J's head as he cried, hoping to be comforting
Karma had no intention of letting him go until he was done crying, I mean, she likes being held when shes upset so it just felt right. Motherly. Finally found the word that fit her. She was motherly in a safe and loving way, just like a mother. She continued to play with his hair, secretly enjoying the fluff,,
j grabbed carlos by the collar of his shirt and dragged him in, practically making it a group hug
Karma smiled and gave her boyfriend a smooch, her tail starting to wag as she stayed put
