I’d suggest looking into to the lore! (Lore videos, lore icebergs,band lore, brand lore, STORY LORE/MAIN LORE etc.) on YouTube there should be some good ones! (I’ll link ya some if needed!) There’s is some BIG FAT JUICY LORE in splatoon so be prepared to get random information about characters not even important to the main story but I really love the lore and find it really interesting! That’s what got me really interested at first but also I’d suggest looking into the music too! I really love the music and I can also link you my playlist of a lot of Splatoon songs (most of them are official but I think a few aren’t so beware) I’d suggest starting off with the idols songs (Squid sisters, Off the hook) and then looking into some of the other fictional bands that are played during battle! (My personal favorites are ink theory, Sashimori, wet floor, and bottom feeders! Also these bands have some lore!) And another thing I’d STRONGLY suggest is looking at the Splatoon wiki! It’s really helpful for character

info, lore, and a lot of other helpful things! I got more interested in the story at first but the game itself is fun too! Watching gameplays is enjoyable to get a better sense of the game mechanics and wiki helps too!

Oh and btw all the Splatoon songs are in inklish/inkling which is the fictional language to the game! The language is based on Japanese and for most songs there are some official lyrics which I think is cool! I’ve memorized all of Calamari inkantation help (also that’s a good song! I prefer Spicy calamari inkantation better though) and the lyrics are still in inklish/inkling with no real meaning but some people on YouTube make fanmade English lyrics if that’s something you’re interested in! ( Example: Caitlin koi)
