Dream-shift/shift-verse dream and nightmares backstory

Dream loved and admired his older brother, he wished he could be as cool as him, not stuck with these dumb positivity powers, people always wanted to hang out with him, not because they liked him but because of the aura dream gave off. Dream at one point believed the were his friends, not knowing they ways they treated nightmare. But he eventually learned the hard way, the day nightmare started taking his pent up aggression and hate out of dream, his little brother.

“ brother...?!” Dream yelped as nightmare struck him “ will you shut up! I don’t want to hear your stupid voice!” Nightmare yelled back making dream go dead silent, the negative guardian was done he was sick of people liking his stupid brother over him. He was to blinded by anger to see he had hurt his brother, nor did he care. He was finally giving the brat what he deserved....right?

[Months later] Dream while his brother was sleeping packed his few belongings and left.He didn’t know where he was going he just wanted to get away, he ran as fast as his legs could carry him. After running for what seemed to be hours dream’s pace slowed to a jog. His hand instinctively went to the crack that ran from his eye to his jaw, miracle that his skull didn’t crack open from this wound.

[flash back to how he got the crack] Dream had just gotten back from hanging out with some of his “fiends” and there nightmare was waiting for him at the top of the hill, their home, he looked very mad Dream wasn’t worried though nightmare was often upset when Dream came anywhere near him, and just as he predicted as soon as the yellow guardian got in range nightmare struck him forcefully. Dream barely flinched at this. He didn’t care if night was hurting him. He just wanted to sleep.

Suddenly the pain became worse, worse than it ever had been. Dream felt something trickle down the side of his face, he touched it and saw, he was bleeding, his brother hit him so hard his skull cracked and started bleeding.
