Ok, so here's the explanation for the end. Our main character (Zen) had been taken to a lab and gotten her demon blood mixed with a wolf's blood. Making her a wolf/demon hybrid. Her demon side took over, changing only her face and personality. The colored part of her demon eyes glow in the dark, so that was the only thing showing when it turned dark.
