The clearing exploded into battle as the patrol leaped into the fight, leaping on the first cat that she saw that smelled different from the unmistakable River-clan cat scent and digging her hooked claws deep into the cats back and shoving the cat to the ground. The cat hissed and withered furiously underneath her but she made sure to keep him pinned before grabbing his scruff with her teeth and tossing him towards the edge of the sunning rocks. Her eyes darted around as she searched for her target.

She growled as a cat crashed into her side and saw a white cat jump to its paws and swipe at her ears, the pain only lasted a second as Orchid swung a paw at the cats head and knocked it away from her. Without wasting any time she pounced upon the white pelt that tried to scramble to its paws and dug her claws across its shoulder, knowing it would retreat if it could hardly fight. And she was right as the cat screeched and tore itself from her grasp and raced away into the woods. She glared after the cat and turned back to the battle, her ears perked and nose searching the blood tainted air.

Unfortunately she couldn’t pick up the scent she was searching for from the edges on the battle. She flattened her ears and looked around for a area to get a better view of the battle field. Her eyes landed on a tall pine tree that stood alone near the sunning rocks. She darted towards the tree as she felt claws swipe through the tip of her tail and missed the skin. She ignored the cat who yowled after her and leaped onto the side of the tree and firmly dug her claws and paws into the bark, leaping up the tree. She reached a high up branch in seconds and crouched on the branch, her eyes scanning the fighting cats below.

The first thing she noticed was that the grey and black cats had been separated and were fighting their own battles, both using skillful battle moves. Her job would be easier now that she wouldn’t have to fight them both at the same time. The cat below her spat furious insults at her as it tried to climb the tree but she completely tuned it out, blood roaring in her ears and her eyes narrowed. As she watched the black cat claw a white cat that had been pinned under his paws, letting out helpless cries of pain, memories of her mother and Rain flashed in her mind, both alive and well, from when she was a kit. Those few seconds of memories went by until she saw them both dead, killed by the same cats merciless claws.

Her claws scraped against the tree bark as she glared furiously at the black pelt and smug face. A vicious snarl escaped her closed jaws and she turned and leaped down the tree, landing on the cat under her who gave a surprised hiss and darting towards him. The cats fighting around her were colorful blurs as she raced across the rocks. No cat tried to stop her for they were locked in their own battles or didn’t want to stop the raging she-cat.

The blue gaze turned towards her with eyes wide and full of surprise as she leaped at him. Her claws dug into his black fur and she dug her teeth into his scruff as she raked her hind claws across his exposed back. The weight caused him to loose his footing the moment she hit him and the two rolled around, swiping and snapping at each other. Both eyes flew wide as the. Rock underneath them disappeared. They rolled off the sunning rocks and landed with a thump on the frosty ground below. Orchid rolled to her paws and watched the black cat stand up, his fur ruffled. His eyes stared at the ground before he looked at her with eyes that held a burning fire and Orchid could feel the fur along her neck rising as she sensed how dangerous her opponent was.

“So you’re the mouse-brained fool who knocked me off my paws" He growled in a low voice. Orchid glared back in silence, her claws digging into the earth. “By the lack of response I’m guessing there is.” He hissed and lashed his tail. “You must have a death wish trying to steal my kill.” Those words made Orchid’s blood boil. “You speak as if killing a cat is the same as killing prey.” She spat. “Oh but it is.” He said with a grin “Us cats don’t value the lives of prey for they don’t matter to us. I don’t value cat's lives the same way. I prefer to prey on the weak close to the strong , taking their lives , destroying their souls, and turning them into fragile little mice to prey on next. Oh the joy I get to experience watching them break down at my paws.” He said in a dangerously soft voice, his eyes bright laughing pools.

Orchid flew at him faster then a bird left the ground and knocked him off his paws and onto his back, her paw placed on his chest and fur puffed up, making her look twice her size. Large white roses and thorned tendrils pelted her fur. “Don’t you dare speak of innocent cats’ lives as if they’re worthless!” Her voice was a deep rumbling echo full of endless rage. His blue eyes suddenly flew wide with shock. “You’re that kit I killed the mother of aren’t you? I’m surpri-" He was cut off as he gave a yowl of pain as she slashed her claws across his head, right above his eyes. “You keep my mother’s name out of your wretched mouth. ” She snarled. He withered in pain underneath her but stopped once he realized he couldn’t break free, panting and growling in annoyance.

“All of you Roses are the same.” He managed to spit, one eye shut to keep blood out of it. He swiped a paw upward to claws her face but she easily caught it in her jaws and bit down hard, the screeches of pain drowned out by the pounding blood in her ears. She felt the bone snap under the fur and released the broken paw. The Tabby was now still and unmoving, his eyes glaring up at her. He suddenly gave a sickening grin that revealed every single on of his fangs. “If only you were in the den when your sister was, who knows, you may have been able to save her and her family. Maybe you could’ve even saved Sky" He laughed cruelly.”But of course you were powerless! You were nothing but a weak little kit who couldn’t handle the guilt of knowing you let your mother and sister down and you still are!”

Orchid didn’t know what happened. Her paws were covered in crimson blood that went up to her forelegs. She spat out the ragged clump of fur and flesh and glared down at the sight below her. The Tabby who had just been laughing in her face now laid under her paws, his head covered in massive cuts that turned his head dark brown with blood. His throat was a bloody mess that had been clawed do deeply that the broken neck bone could be seen. The rest of his pelt was covered in slashes and bruises. His eyes were sliced and bloody as he stared at nothing. He reeked of the scent of death. Orchid’s body moved without thinking as she grabbed the heavy tabby's scruff and dragged him towards the river. Her paws turned the cool water red as she stepped into it, the current tugging at the limp cat that she held in her jaws. She released him and watched as his body was carried down the river that turned red from his bloody pelt. “No one will ever find you.”
