"Corey!-" the small blonde boy spoke exitedly, his hand gripping hers on the crowded New York street.
"How did you-"
"Don't know!- smart guy I guess!-" he stared at her, as if something captivated him about her, the way their movements, their auras..seemed to match eachother
"Until what?- is there such thing as a forever?-"
"Until rock bottom" she promised

He grinned, holding his bloody nailed bat above her head, she was laying limply on the floor, bright green acid eating away at her.
"Until rock bottom-" he smiled twistedly. "You didn't promise forever-"
"There is no such thing as forever" she managed to choke out, staring up at him. "Human emotions- such as this-" she smiled weakly at him, spitting out yet another tooth "is why forever is never guaranteed- your gree-" she was cut off by the bat swinging just by her head, his yelling pierced her line of sound.
"I saved you!!!-" he screamed down to her "I saved you from that abusive prick!-"

They ran off into the night, Corey was admittedly scared.
"Don't look back!!" Danny called as he gripped her hand tighter, running quickly. Corey could barley hold onto the silver pistol, the blood spatter covering her entire face.
She felt like a murderer
She was.

The bat tumbled to the ground, dropping to his knees, he couldn't even look at her. "Why...." Was all he could ask.
"If you kill me...you kill us-" she stared at the ground, kicking her bloody foot away from the puddles of acid now burning through her floor and her flesh. His eyes finally found hers, as their gazes met for the first genuine time since that night.
"Until...rock...bottom..." He barley whispered, his eyes going droopy. "Why did you promise until then..."
Her eyes were closing, she tried to speak out.

They ran into the night, the news covering her name, it seemed every light was the police Looking for her. The boy kept running, faster then she could process what she'd done, and who found her- standing over the dead body of the man who'd owned her for those two horrid years.
He stumbled along the alleyway, falling forward quickly, landing on the front sidewalk, they hit a line of cement steps. Corey landed next to him. Danny rubbed his head, Corey looked up, her eyes widening
A casino, a large one. The front read "Ace Of Hearts Casino" Corey seemed mesmerized by the sight of it, a flicker crossing her eyes as she helped him up, smiling, clinging to the silver pistol a bit harder.
"I've got an idea-"

"I'll be there for you-" she smiled, clinging to his hand, glancing back at the apartment where the bad man lived. Where she lived.
"Until what?- is there such thing as a forever?-"
"Until rock bottom" she promised

Link"What comes after rock bottom huh!?" He sputtered, falling right next to her, his hand shaking, slowly starting to come to a stop.
With her eyes closing, her hand reaching out to grab his, a gentle smile crossed her face.
"Because after rock bottom-" she paused to cough, the light in her eyes seeming to go out as her whisper barley made noise in the room.
"There's nowhere else to go but up...."

Their eyes closed together. The room leaving Nothing but a horrid, lifelong misunderstanding.
Nowhere to go.
