Well, not long ago my grandma fell badly and needed multiple cirugies to recuperate, she spend like 3 months on bed being unable to walk because of pain, but later she started to get better, very slowy, and now she is fine again. So it is probably going to be the same with your dad! Maybe righ now things looks kinda bad, but a little bit of patience he will get better!!
