Winfrith was born into a wealthy, powerful family of mages. Though she was the child of the family’s strongest pairing, she was surprisingly weak in terms of physical strength and arcane abilities. The most she could even do was make a single spark of fire, but it only lasted for a few seconds. As the years went on, and as she began to doubt herself more and more from all of her family’s rejection of her, she was on the brink of giving up entirely. But something kept her from falling over that brink; something kinder than her entire family. Someone who was more of a parent to her than her own mother or father. He told her to call him Edgar, and he offered to teach her a kind of magic that was meant for someone like her. Without a moment of hesitation, she accepted his offer and was immediately whisked away to a palace of ice far, far to the north. Years passed as she honed her skills, decades going by as Winfrith sharpened her control of ice and snow like a steel blade.
