In the dark depths of Narzam, the once peaceful kingdom was starting to stir. Someone new had taken over the throne, and even went as far as to fight their siblings as well. The discourse it had sparked was chaotic, to say the least. The speculation, the regular fights breaking out, the protests were more than enough for someone to wall themselves off from society. Which was exactly what Xonak did. He groaned as a shaft of light from one of his windows suddenly brightened, as if cheery about what was going on. He sighed and threw the covers off of himself, before looking around at his partially destroyed room; that was right, he did tear it apart the night before looking for his gloves and hand sanitizer. The mirror in the corner of the cluttered bedroom felt like it was insulting him as he paused to look at himself. His skin, a light pink, looked rough and calloused, his pure white eyes looking as empty as ever, his ears still bat-like. He paused for a moment to braid his long, white hair in an atte

to keep it out of the way. It never worked. Honestly, he was, what, twenty five? Something like that? He should not have a room reminiscent of his pre pubescent years. When the room was finally restored to a somewhat reasonable state, he nodded to himself and finally exited his room. An exasperated groan escaped his lips when he saw the hallway’s state. The cleaning needed to be done quickly, there was something he’d need to do. He could feel that something important was going to happen today, and he wanted his house to be clean. The ground and upper floor were nothing special; bedrooms and the bathroom were upstairs, and the ground floor had the kitchen. Otherwise, it was rather bare. What made this house one he kept was the basement; larger than the ground floor, it was a large area for him to examine things. It was better this way, finding samples quickly and retreating here.
