I'll never forget that fateful day. March 12, 2020. The day lockdown started. Okay, technically the 13th, but schools started closing on the 12th. My friend and I were both well aware of COVID by that point, we found out about it in January...and naturally made a parody of My Sharona that ends with the singer dying. Basically, the entire day, the entire school was talking about what was at the time a new pandemic. Nobody knew what would happen, especially after lockdown. Nobody in my school had COVID at the time. Today, at least 100 or so students in my school have caught COVID, 3 in my class. We assumed the lockdown was just a couple weeks, since we were supposed to return on the 30th...then April 20th...then August. I lost the last quarter of 11th grade because of this pandemic. Some of my closest friends lost their last quarter of senior year because of it. It's wild. And to think it started because some weirdo in Wuhan ate a bat.
