Linkproshipping/darkshipping shouldnt be publicly supported. yes its a coping mechanism but the reason its bad is cause its exposing people (especially impressionable minors) to the content and making them think its okay because at the end of the day kids are kind of retarded and they do what they see online. and with that previous statement i dont think minors younger than 15-16 maybe should be on the internet unrestricted or unsupervised either because that shit can screw you up (as a 17 year old who has been on the internet since he was 6)

if it's a coping mechanism then whatever yknow but for whatever reason people darkship don't portray it in a positive light?? Because it's not. That's like the whole thing.. don't treat it like it's normal and definitely not like it's okay
I feel like we probably shouldn't indulge in these things regardless of how public they are. Despite the common claim that fiction doesn't effect reality, its shown to absolutely effect your mentality around these taboo subjects and normalizes the idea to you more and more. Some coping mechanisms are objectively invalid and we need to accept that, they can harm us in different ways and we need to find other methods of coping.
I can understand angst and potentially imbalanced shipping but outright violent abuse and otherwise harmful ships just should not be indulged in, in my opinion. While yes this may sound puritan, what you consume does effect you, regardless of if you want to admit it.
i agree with this however you really cant control how people cope but you can control the spread of it somewhat so people learn not to think its okay cause it isnt. neither is self harm or substance abuse or any of that if we're being real
While yes I cannot control how people cope, I can and do urge people to not do that, even proshipping in private is a dangerous game and people should do effectively anything else to try to cope, as it just turns one problem into another.
i would like to clarify that i do also think proshipping even in private is bad for you and i was just saying thats the main reason people get jumped for it online,, at least frm what ive seen, either way the point i made is still correct no matter how harmful pro/darkshipping is to the user
