LinkSTORY TIME WITH WOOF!!
So… Today was the last day of school.
The last three days of each school year are half days, so that includes today. The release bell rang at 11:00 for us to get a “grab and go” lunch, 5 minutes earlier than usual. The announcement lady basically said “There’s a storm coming, so everybody get your stuff and get on the bus.”
I normally ride home with my parents, so today was no different. I went outside and there definitely were storm clouds rolling in. My mom wasn’t there yet, so I was ready to wait on the sidewalk for her.
My phone then buzzed like- REALLY REALLY LOUD, and I looked down to see a Tornado warning. I was panicking and sent my mom a screenshot of the warning (keep in mind the school has HORRIBLE service, so I wasn’t actually able to send any messages during this time)
The announcements soon came back on as the lady told us to “get off the buses and head back inside.”

LinkI practically peed myself because I was thinking… “Well, my mom is on her way, so why should I go inside? But there’s a tornado warning… I really should go inside.”
The woman then said “This is a drill- actually this is NOT a drill” (she’s a very sporadic and annoying office lady… 😅)
In the end I went inside and we all got into position against the lockers. About 10 minutes later the teachers ushered us into a classroom where we waited out the strong winds and lightning for about 20 more minutes.
The entire time I was trembling. There were boys next to me who weren’t afraid of the storm, practically saying “if we die, we die,” and stuff like, “imagine if the buses just came flying into the building towards us XD”
Another girl had to be taken aside with a teacher who knew tornados really well to calm her down. She was in the midst of a panic attack, and I was surprised that wasn’t me at the moment… But there was no actual tornado outside the school; Just heavy rain and strong winds.

LinkWe were released at 11:40 when the strong winds had calmed down. I came outside to my mom who was actually waiting outside since 11:10 😨 IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STORM!!
She dropped me off at home after that and went off to get Chipotle 😆
So… nobody was hurt (For what I know) and there was no tornado that came anywhere near the school. We were panicked and wanted to go home, sure, but nothing happened in the end and I’m sure most of us ended up home just fine.
Thanks for reading! Today was one HELL OF A LAST DAY!
