Well, I like algebra I find it easier than arithmetic You just have to memorise the rules And from there, it's pretty easy You just gotta know how to apply those rules to your equation

That equals 16. 2 to the second powers stands for 2 times its'self. 2x2 is 4. 4x4=16.

OR! WAIT! IT'S A 4X!!! IT WOULD BE 4=4x. Divide by 4. YOU HAVE ONE! 1=1x, or 1=x.

Well, 2 squared is 2 times itself That' 2 times 2 which is 4 Your equation is now 4 • 4x = y 4 • 4x = 16x 16x = y Is your answer As long as 16 • whatever number equals the right thing, this staement will hold true For example, when x = 7, 16(7) = 112, when you do the math, you can confirm that y = 112 So that is a true statement However, if 16 = 3 and y = 20, the statement will not be true as 16 • 3 does not equal 20 You can just remember that x acan be anything, as long as that number times 16 is equal to y I hope you will forgive me for rambling about algebra because I'm bored Have a good day
