So this is before kairo got his blue coloring, and this is how he got it. I made a story for this. So, kairo got his red coloring from a curse that would usually kill him. but dosali saved him. but in doing so, she cursed herself as well. She became the only one that could reverse the curse. She knew that this curse, if she didn't stop it, would eventually kill both of them.

So, she crafted with magic, 2 necklaces, that would change them back. but it would only activate in rough ocean water, because the color he was going to be turned back into is blue. And it would only work if she was there as well. But the spell could backfire. If it where to fail, it would just make the curse work about 50 times faster, resulting in both of them dying immediately :)
