you do the whole thing (outline and scales) in black on a top layer and thats your outline. While they're still black, make a bottom layer and color in the drawing. Then, using the orange and grey chisel tip pen (on the bottom-right of the pen list) color the outline (on the outline layer) in the color of your choosing; for these I use a darker color than the color i used to color it in. (like, if you color the picture orange, use a slightly darker orange for the scales) and that's how I do the "markings"! any questions?

and for shading use the orange marker and on the color layer use darker colors to shade; same for the outline: use a darker color for the shading on the outline with the orange marker
