The curse was from a lord who wanted to poison a petty thief the poison ended up being a curse, every time my character lies they descend further into madness which causes them to accidentally turn on their team or have their magic go wild (blinded by madness) Also the mark of detection let’s them weasel their way out of capture and ambushes
