It was a very humid and rainy day in Atlantic City. Oscar was stood at his locker at the high school, just bagging up his things. He liked to decorate his school bags so he would add a few pins and such trinkets. He was quite popular at the school, but never had any sort of date with a girl. He wasn’t really into that sort of thing, which many found particularly weird with how good his looks were. Oscar had dark red dyed hair, with a mullet haircut. He wore a green cloth jacket with a happy yellow smiley pin on his left side. He wore bright blue jeans with white soccer shoes.

He went to a Christian school so this was usually frowned upon, so he hid the fact as well as possible, didnt even tell his best friend Riley. He felt like a certain group of people were onto him though, Max was pretty rude to him and made a lot of inappropriate jokes towards him, he didnt let it get to him that much. Speaking of which, they were starting towards him at the moment. “Hey, Oscar where you headed? You’re a senior I suppose you have a car by now?” Max said to him knowing he didnt own one. “No Max, still don’t have one, not everyone has enough money for that sort of stuff. Might get one this summer though,” Oscar answered. “Ooh gonna make some summer love?” Max joked, he hundred percent knew about Oscar, this confirmed it. “What makes you think that? Maybe I just wanna be able to drive and get a license like everyone else?”

Max stepped forward, closer to him, “Look, I can tell that you are that sort of, guy. I don’t think you should be spending any more time around other guys, you know no one here wants what you want.” Max looked down at his pocket showing that he had a small pocket knife in it. Oscar saw this and backed up a bit, Max’s two other friends had gathered around him as well. Oscar grabbed his bag and threw it over his back, slowly moving away from them. “Look I don’t understand what you’re trying to say to me, I don’t know what you want, or what I want.” Oscar then turned and started to speedwalk off the school campus, he saw that Max and his two friends were following him from a different direction. Oscar then started to jog towards where his job was, he knew he would be safe downtown. There were quite a few people out on the sidewalk, it was rush hour anyway.

Oscar saw Max and them on bikes heading towards him. He had to start running, he ran down the pavement. It started to rain hard now, cars kept speeding past them and every once in a while would splash him with water. No one in Atlantic City really cared, they were right by Jersey anyway. Oscar started to get a boost of anxiety, it felt like he was in fight or flight mode. He knew he couldn’t make it to his work, so he was going to have to lose them somewhere. He saw an alleyway coming up, there was a fence he would have to jump over. He dashed towards it and clung onto the gate and launched himself over it. He tripped over a can and fell on his face hard on the drenched sidewalk of the alley.

He picked up the can and scrambled to hit feet hiding behind a dumpster. The alleyway had a fork in its pathways, one to the right and one to the left. The left was a dead end and the right was a way to the next road. He was hiding in the left way, trying to catch his breath. He noticed that there was a camera in the alleyway with him, this way he knew he would be safe if they were caught it on tape. He held the can in his hand tightly, it made a small crinkle. He saw the kids pass the alleyway after a solid minute, he was surprised at how fast he had ran. He let out a heavy breath in relief and got to his feet. He looked out of the gate and slowly started to climb back up it. He was suddenly hit in the back with a rock, it made him yelp and fall back to the ground.

It was Max, he went through the right side of the backside of the alleyway. Oscar scrambled to his feet, Max got closer forcing him into a corner of brick of the alley walls. “Max, please,” Oscar shook a little, he knew he had a weapon on him. “You are the only homosexual in this Christian school, yet you’re too scared to say it out loud, because ‘Oh boo hoo my popularity!!’ Well, guess what? I’m done staring at a full-on walking sin, done knowing there’s a weird creep in our grade. Plus, besides that, you’ve broken so many girls’ hearts! Yet you pretend you’re a man of god.” Max spat all this in Oscar’s face, he was practically pinned.

Oscar struggled to get off the wall, but this kid was so stubborn and cruel. He then saw Max reach down to his pocket for the pocket knife, his eyes widened. “This is just to make sure you don’t, get into any funny business with other weirdos…” Oscar then felt a terrible burning sensation on his left eye. Oscar pushed Max off and he fell to his knees holding his left eye, he felt liquid falling out of his head. His head started to spin and he collapsed on the ground, his eye had been dung out of his face! He turned around weakly onto his back and looked at Max.

“Well I mean,” Max laughed a little too cockily, “you’re ugly!” Max kicked Oscar in the stomach, causing Oscar to curl up into a ball and choke. Max turned around as he put the knife back into his pocket, two of his friends were waiting right outside the alleyway, making sure no one would see what was going on. There was then a huge red flash of light, not a normal light, like a paranormal sort of glowing flash. There was a vibration in the air, it made Oscar’s hair flow backward, and then there was a thump onto the pavement, of Max’s body. Max’s two friends stumbled back and ran in the other direction, scared to death. Oscar couldn’t see what was happening, his vision was too blurry.

There was a small orb of light, that came out of Max’s lifeless body, and up into the fist of a figure standing over him. The figure’s fist closed around it and a few sparks of fire spat out. Oscar somehow found the strength to sit up and back up into the brick wall again. He could barely see the figure, but he could make out the suit he was wearing, was it the FBI? Or some gang member? He kept squinting through tears, trying to make out the threat that was in the alley with him. The figure was very tall, around six feet, maybe taller. It was definitely a guy, he had a suit without any suit jacket, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. As Oscar tried to wipe tears away from his one still existing eye, he made out a tail! He was confused, the figure quickly turned towards him, as Oscar let out a small gasp. The figure apparently didnt know he was there at first, until now. The figure bent down to get to Oscar’s level trying to see what wound he had.

“Oh that’s not good,” the figure said. Oscar then saw that the man had horns and a tail! He held his breath pressing his back against the wall as hard as possible. He had the same bright-colored red-dyed hair as Oscar, more of a spikey and fluffed up hairstyle. He had cutting blue eyes you could see from a mile away.

The man reached into his back pocket and took out a handkerchief and handed it to him. Oscar shakily took the handkerchief and pressed it against his skull where the wound was. “Th-thanks,” Oscar studdered now knowing how to react to this kind gesture. “My name is Aaron,” he said, “sorry you had to see that.” Aaron then got back up and looked at Oscar sadly, he was clearly trying to think about something. Aaron started to pace a little bit in front of Oscar, “Wh-whats wrong sir?” Oscar was still very confused and scared to the bone. “I...It’s nothing just, god okay, you really weren’t to see that and I-” Aaron was confusing Oscar more and more by the second. “Don’t do it Aaron this guy did absolutely nothing, got hurt even,” Aaron whispered to himself silently.

“I wasn’t supposed to see what?” Oscar quivered, he was assuming he was talking about Max. Aaron rubbed the bottom of his nose and pointed back at the kid’s body with his thumb. Oscar then noticed he had a ring on his right hand, which was weird because you would assume if a guy was wearing a ring he would be engaged. The sounds of sirens started up down the road. That means the whole thing was caught on camera! Oscar looked down the road through the gate and then back at Aaron. “Please, for the love of God, don’t say anything about me. I wasn’t here.” Aaron said to Oscar, “I’m doing you a huge favor here bud.” Aaron turned and by a twirl of this hand, he had disappeared without a trace, as he had just teleported in thin air! “Wait!-” Oscar tried to call out to him, but he was already gone.

The police pulled up to the alleyway and saw Max’s body immediately, and Oscar was wounded. “On the ground! Hands up kid!” one of the cops yelled to him. Obviously, Oscar did what he was asked, he did keep one hand on his face for the rag though. A few of the cops came into the alleyway and checked everything out, one of them saw that Oscar’s eye had been ripped out, his eye was on the total opposite side of the alley. “The suspect is severely injured,” they said into one of their radios. They got Oscar up and tried to calm him down till an ambulance came to pick him up. As Oscar was taken to the hospital he asked if one of the doctors could call his Uncle and tell him where he is and what happened.
