I just learned how to use desu a few days ago, so I'm proud xd. Desu means it is, and it is goes before the thing you describe unlike in English when it goes before. In english it would be, it is pink, in Japanese it would be, pink it is. Sorry... I just finally am beginning to know bits and pieces of another language
