Now, to the topic.
Anime is a well-known thing, and even when you're not part of the community you know what it is. Simple. Anime consists of many different art styles yet here we are, with the same stupid stereotype of the style and characters. You can find a stereotyper who doesn't even watch it through these sentences, spoken seriously:
"Kawaii!! >w<"
"So desu anime girl!!"
"Baka!"
"Anime!!"
"Is that anime??"
There's a common theme in those sayings: Anime girl. A type of character that normally comes up as some Sailor Moon trash. Now it's fine to say these things as a joke, especially as a fan. But when you don't watch anime and ASSUME you know everything about it and say that is the most annoying thing on the planet.
Most of these time these people have stupid names with "anime" in the beginning and they draw in THE SAME STUPID STYLE THAT EVERYONE IMMEDIATELY ASSUMES IS ANIME.

Another reason I get so ticked off with these people is that they assume they know everything about anime and talk about it WHEN THEY DON'T WATCH IT.
Like that one dumb kid in school that thinks they know all about what we're learning about but fail the test.
They know nothing.
YET DARE TO THINK THEY CAN DRAW IT AND KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT IT.

Everyone used to say i drew in an “anime style kawaii desu nyaa” when I was trying at realism and it made me sad lmao
This makes me feel better for some reason thank you for recognizing anime is a japanese cartoon and not a style.
One can try and replicate the styles used in anime, but that doesn’t make what ur drawing anime.
I have someone like this in my school. Let's just say I'm saying something from Sailor Moon. So I'm saying it and the other person that ACTUALLY watches anime understands it. They laugh and then this stupid person comes over and says (AND I QUOTE) "Oh Melody that's from one of your movies."
I say "No It's from anime." Then they say "Oh but that's the art style you draw in!"
Another thing is that I'm the art kid and we had a thing to do once. Now, the teacher needed someone who is good at drawing. Since I draw a lot and everyone else in my class thinks it's good they pointed to me. A few kids shouted out. One said like "Oh you have to choose her." And that same kid from the other story said "Oh yeah she's good at drawing kawaii anime."
I think people should do their research before they assume any cartoon style is an 'Anime style'.
