Well no, I think there is some necessity in that, to go "hey, I think I have this" so you can make changes in your life to accommodate. Not everyone can pay for a diagnosis, that shit is like hundreds of dollars with American Healthcare. I think as long as you're not diagnosing yourself with every illness or disorder in the fụcking book, it's okay. It's not a real diagnosis either, just a proposal that you might have it.
If you cant afford to a diagnoses they’re really aint no point in saying you have it if its not confirmed

Guy seems pretty well versed in mental illnesses/disorders and I'm not just a neutotypical defending self diagnosing, I'm properly diagnosed with a disorder and a couple illnesses. (ADHD, Anxiety, Depression)
I also used to demonize self diagnosing but he makes a really good arguement, so I've "changed teams" so to speak.
Blowing up at someone when you assume their tone yourself instead of actually asking,,,

speaking as someone whos been in the fandom for 5 or 6 years, most people join the fandom very young. like, ages 9 to 12. to this day, the majority of the fandom is young kids and teens, and those who are older usually arent weird.
plus furries do much better on calling out bad people in the fandom than many other fandoms in my experience,, i could literally write. an entire essay about this
