Linkyou/your oc were going home one day, and you/your oc decided to stop by a small cafe, to get something. The place was full, except for a two person table in the corner of the room. one chair was open. the person in the other chair was a young male, with a good face, his hair, which was silverish brown, tied in a man bun, and he was reading a book, having tea. he seemed to want to fade into the shadows, and was very shy, yet no one occupied the chair across from him. wwyd?

Velvet: -she’d nervously but politely approach the man- “E-Excuse me, sir? Is this seat available? I-it’s ok if it isn’t” -her small body was trembling from the intimidating man-
*he looked up, his expression kind, his left eye green, his left brown*
Void: it is.
Velvet: -her lip quivered as she softly spoke- “W-would you mind me s-sitting in it...?”
Velvet quietly and nimbly pulled out the chair and sat in it, feeling flushed with embarrassment
Velvet: “O-oh, yes! I guess just a bit.... unnerved for an upcoming event...” -she chuckled nervously, trying to subside her fear-
Velvet: “I’m supposed to be meeting up with someone I haven’t seen in a little while, and I’m nervous to see them again after so long” -she chuckled, feeling more comfortable-
Void: I bet you would be. i am nervous just talking to people. I hope it goes well for you.
Velvet: “I feel you. And thank you” -she smiled brightly to Void “I’m Velvet!”
Velvet: “Thank you. Nice to meet you Void!” -she held out her paw in an offering for a handshake-
Velvet took a small bite from her blueberry muffin she had been holding “So... what do you work as?”
Velvet: “Ph, I’m sorry if that was taken too harsh or personal! Forget I asked, I’m so sorry!”
Void: n-no your fine. i have a couple of things on the side that get me by, but not a stable job.
Velvet: “I apologize, and I hope you find a stable job. I’m always free to help, if needed!”
-she smiled, taking another bite from her muffin-
Velvet: “At the moment, I work as a minor author and graphic designer. Both of which aren’t exactly the most earning jobs, so I also work at the local flower shop”
Velvet returned the smile, biting off a portion of the muffin while doing so

Velvet: “What books do you read? Or maybe genre? I’m more into the fantasy romance books”
Void: those are really good. I usually find myself reading dystopian though.
Velvet: “Dystopian is quite interesting, and very eye catching to certain people.”
Velvet: -her faced flushed immensely as she felt flustered as ever- “I- t-thank y-you? I’ll take that as a c-compliment”
Velvet: “It’s a-all ok, sometimes our tongues tend to say strange things”
Velvet thought to herself / Most of the time, too many strange things \
Velvet: “W-well... eheh.,. Do you want to go to the new park down the road when you are finished?”
-she chewed the last of her muffin smiling patiently-
Velvet: “W-well, where do you normally shop at? I would mostly shop at FallMart (HAHA NO COPYRIGHTING HERE) to get my essential items”

Void: yeah, either that or Aim (I tried, yours is better) for me.

Velvet: “Aim is a nice place to shop”
(Eeee I have to go to bed. Maybe continue sometime later? At the moment it’s legit 2:17 AM)
As his eyes darted around, he walked closer to the man that sat alone.
He wrinkled his nose for a moment, before looking at the man and his chair in front of him.
He approached it, then promptly sat.
"Hey man, you look kinda sad," he said, putting his elbows on the table and supporting his head with his right hand. "You need anything?"
He put his left hand in his pocket.
Void:... well... okay maybe Im not exactly alright right now. I received word that my older brother died in a fire this weekend.
*he shook his head no*
Void: My mother died when I was one, and my father was put in jail, then died there.
"Ain't that pretty tragic." He nodded. With his voice hoarse, he kept talking. "Turns out, my boy, I've got some work to do and I need help, you know?" He shrugged. "I'll pay you half of my paycheck. It's sure to cover all your costs. If you do it well I'll recommend you. How's it sound?"
"Pleasure doing business with ya. I'll take my leave." He stood up, and with only a mere nod, he left the place.
At nine and thirty minutes the next day, there he was with his car parked in front of the small cafe. Turning on the air conditioner, he looked at the window and lowered it, lighting up a cigarette and putting it his mouth.
This new kid has enough potential, he thought. He just hoped he wasn't going to get caught any time soon.
He exhaled, grey smoke coming from his mouth. His throat rasped and he coughed.
He really needed to quit, but he barely could care for his own work. It's not like it's the best of jobs, but it is his job nonetheless.
He's getting old. That should explain his discontent.
He looked at his watch. He should go inside now.
Turning off the engine, he opened the door. With a groan, he stood up, holding his lower back before standing as straight as he could. He closed the door and locked his car.
He lifted his arms and joined his hands, before looking at the cafe, lowering his arms and relaxing his shoulders, and walking towards it.
He looked at the spot the kid was sitting yesterday. There he was.
He approached him, lifting his hand in a greeting. "Hey. Are you ready for work?"
