LinkBasic Info:
Appearance-
Valgopsids are generally vibrant in color with darker sound organs and light bellies. A Valgopsids with mainly dark, faded colors is a sign of illness, as healthy Valgopsids do not naturally possess these colors. Valgopsids are around 6'0" ft and just barely exceed the average human male height, but almost never get taller than 6'0". They are also covered in a soft, smooth hide that gets rougher and stiffer at their cartilaginous 'flaps' that cover their sound organs. Their blood is also red, similarly to ours.

LinkAbilities-
Valgopsids' primary form of communication is produced the the sound organs under their flaps, which normally sit flush with the skin, but raise to produce sound. These sound organs, or 'Sonitus obice', colloquially known as 'Sonitus', produce a sound similar to cicadas, as membranes within the Sonitus are flexed over and over again, producing the droning clicks. Valgopsids do also have a spoken and written language, both of which they commonly use to express thoughts too complex for the simple clicking language.

LinkValgopsids also possess translucent webbing that consists off the 'Cornu magnum', the portion that runs from the undersides of their arms to the outer thigh, and the 'Cornu parvum', which runs from the inner thigh and along the top of the underbelly. Despite the Latin word 'cornu' meaning wing, these are not true wings, and cannot facilitate flight. They can, however, glide. Despite these 'wings', their arms still have a full range of motion, and are able to reach above their heads just fine.

LinkDespite the lethal look of the barb on their tails, they are not venomous. It is incredibly sharp, however, and can certain be used for offensive or defensive means.

LinkValgopsids possess redundant organs, including a redundant nervous system. Valgopsids have specialized cells that bridge the gaps if nerves are damaged. A Valgopsids with a severed spine can recover if their other wounds aren't severe, each nerve strand cleverly genetically coded to assist these cells in reconnecting one severed nerve to another without it becoming a jumbled mess. Each Valgopsid nerve is essentially is genetically 'color coded'. Valgopsids also have duplicates of all their organs in exception to their reproductive tracts and cloacas.

LinkValgopsids have a wider range of colors they can see than we as humans are able to. Where we may say 2 or 3 colors on the hide of a Valgopsid, they can see an entire rainbow of colors. This causes many Valgopsids to be confused by human paintings, as the colors we can't see, but they can, often clash with the colors we can see.

LinkCivilization-
Valgopsid technology is on par with human technology, and they live in similar, large group styled towns and cities, having a monarchy system similar to England, having a king or queen in power that's based on lineage and the oldest of the family(who can effectively reign), but a council system that makes most of the decisions. The King or Queen works more as essentially a mascot but often goes to diplomatic meetings with other races. Valgopsids don't particularly have any gods but do have a religion, worshipping their ancestors in incredibly sacred ceremonies held either in the extinct lava chambers of the various extinct volcanos on the planet, these chambers hold brilliant crystals with colors beyond on our range of vision, or with one of these crystals at the place of worship. These crystals seen as a result of their ancestors spiritual power, which they believe helps to will their planet's natural processes. They understand science and praise it, but simply say their ancestors essentially

LinkJust a note that Valgopsids are not reptiles or mammals, they're a synapsid, meaning they're an in-between the two animal groups.
