Linkcurrently trying to write a Bilingual Character but I only speak one language and I dont wanna be a dumbass and have to google translate every time they say something in their native language (which I think should be a slavic one because im tired of EVERY ****ING MAIN CHARCATER EVER being a dumbass white American who's ignorant and stupid and cis)

SORRY IM LATE!! uh im gonna sleep now bc its rlly late but like. BEING BILINGUAL...for me its kinda like. having thoughts in english but talking in polish (irl atleast lol). sometimes i do actually randomly talk in english (like whenever i dont know how to say the sentence in polish or i just.. forget the word in polish) but thats bc my mom is also bilingual so we understand eachother Like That lol. however talking on here its like... sometimes i accidentaly say sumn in polish but like. since its Typing i catch myself and dont actually say it. like sometimes instead of saying basic shit like "above" ill say "nad". uhhh blue is also bilingual with me and for him he slips up more often with the polish but he also catches himself. its good to remember that being bilingual isnt always being perfect at both languages - if u surround urself around ur 2nd language too much, u can eventually forget some words from ur 1st language. which is also why im slowly forgetting polish words LOL. uhh idk yea tahts all <3
oh and uhh talking to my friends who only understand polish. i just talk to them normally in polish but sometimes the english words DO slip out. very rarely tho. same case vice versa <3

okay I have like one question. so if Mason (character) forgets a word in English, would a bilingual person just say the word in their native language and vice versa?
like.
spanish as an example again bc I know some
"go sit on that.. ****... silla... uh.. god... CHAIR YEAH THATS IT" or (translated vice versa)
"ve a sentarte en eso.... chair... uh.... god... SILLA SI ESO ES"
or is it more like. you'll forget a word and instead of just saying the word you'll mutter under your breath in either language about how ****ing annoying words are
at one point my friend explained it to me as: "its not being fluent in two languages, its forgetting words in both" and is this accurate
1. UHHH? KINDA YEAH? im usually like. "ja lubię jeść uh... pancakes" when i forget a word in polish but thats around my bilingual mom who Understands,,, around polish only friends id be more like. "uh i forgot the word forget it" or i would describe the word and ask them for help. yeah thats kinda it <3
2. YEAH ...YEAH..... NO THAT IS SO TRUE LMFAOOO. I OFTEN FORGET WORDS FROM BOTH LANGUAGES AND IT SUCKS... BC SOMETIMES I GENUINELY HAVE TO USE GOOGLE TRANSLATE TO REMIND MYSELF WHAT THE WORD WAS LMFAOO
