ooouh alright Their mother is a blind Honduran white bat, she’s a really sweet older lady named Honeydew/Honey (will draw her next fr) and their dad is an Eastern red bat named Tod (like Westley!) which is why Westley is horrified of who he is as a person. Anyways Their childhood was,, interesting. Southley was the firstborn and was honestly raised pretty well, then Tod decided it was time for more kids, and so came Northley and Westley, they're around the same age, they weren't,, twins? But they were born around a similar time, due to Tod being an Eastern red bat! It increased the likelihood of them having two pups at a time! (No this is not mpreg...) But, due to Honeydew being born completely blind (no eyes) she was.. very easy for Tod to manipulate, she relied on him to be honest to her and help her around, especially as she got more frail from yknow, kids. So, their early years where mostly their dad barking/ordering them around. Southley got the best treatment, until Eastley came into the picture

Once Eastley came into the picture he was Tod’s favorite, at least until he started gaining weight. Tod was never a good person, and honestly the only time he was ever a decent person was before his kids came into the picture. Him and Honeydew had a bittersweet relationship. But anyways. Kids. Tod was a bit of a.,. Drinker? He wasn’t an addict but they had it in the house for special occasions, and he ended up introducing Westley to such things, it wasn’t a good time, Westley succumbed to it just to earn his dads affections, it was the only time the old man would ever even look him in the eyes. Southley feels nothing but guilt over this.

OOO OOO SO SO SO Honeydew, their mom, is a Honduran white bat! Tod, their dad, is an Easten Red bat Westley is also an Eastern red bat! Southley is a Rafinesque's Big-eared Bat Northley is a silver haired bat And Eastley is a Southwestern Myotis Bat!!

Oh no no no Weird genetics, they are not their exact bat species, its just the species they take after After all, Batfolk aren’t proper bats, even if they look like them! They all have heavy mixes of various genetics, the first few Batfolk where,, odd. It's an interesting punnet square but if you map it all out it works funny

So like, basically when a Batfolk has a kid it’s a weird wheel spin of what they could end up being more closely related to, in terms of proper genetics, all of them would be more Eastern red bats. Besides Northley, who takes after their mom more, and so would be Honduran. But, due to the genetic structure of Batfolk not actually working as a humans does, it’s like,, odd. Each Batfolk carries a genome for five different bat species, getting the same as a parent is actually more strange then not getting it
