The kilometre (SI symbol: km; /ΛkΙͺlΙmiΛtΙr/ or /kΙͺΛlΙmΙtΙr/), spelt kilometer in American English, is a unit of length in the International System of Units (SI), equal to one thousand metres (kilo- being the SI prefix for 1000).
