As they rode closer to the river, she realised they were going to cross. As the horse waded slowly, she saw that it led to a waterfall. An idea sparked in her mind. It could be the only chance she had to escape. She sprung her leg over the side of the saddle and jumped. Her heart stopped as she hit the cold water, and gasping, she swam with all her might towards the edge. The rider was immediately alarmed and, taking his visible form, steered the horse towards her. As she reached the brink, she caught herself on a rock and hesitated. The fall would be a long one, but seeing the rider approach, she gritted her teeth and let go.
