I tend to find people babying me when I'm anxious. Their voice is stern and harsh with others, but when they see a shy and nervous person, boom, "Are you okay, honey?" Much more gentle (I don't see this as bad; it's just something I noticed; this also happened from some students). I guess it's because seeing someone shy is like seeing someone in fear, you don't want them to run away or get even more scared. hmm
