Octavian was out, picking some berries. he soon returned with a basket full. he stepped into his cabin, quietly closing his door and turning towards the kitchen.

unfortunately for him, the other had heightened senses and immediately stopped, hearing his breathing. he gently set the basket on the counter and slipped off his coat, pretending he didn't hear anything and turned, putting it on a dining room chair. he was sniffing him out.

it didn't take him long to find him. He stopped in front and stared down at him. Octavian was quiet say for light breathing.

he chuckled lightly. "but you're in my home." he spoke softly, his accent slightly thicker than normal.

he sighed. "i am not going to hurt you. stand up." he chirped, stepping back, giving the poor thing some room. "why don't you sit, the couch is over there."

he stared at him for another moment before turning on the light. he flinched slightly, he didn't really use them much. "hungry?"

he nodded and returned to the kitchen, coming back a minute later with a glass of water, setting it on a side table next to Aspen and sitting on the other end of the couch. "you said, there was someone after you, yes? why?"

oo cool// he looked at him, suddenly way more interested. "oh? and, what makes it so, special?"

he tilted his head. "oh, i see. how..intriguing." by now the Vampire had turned his whole body to him, moving a bit closer.

"its no issue my dear, stay for however long you need. i do have a spare room just in case."

sorry for late reply// he chuckled again and stood. "oh please, some company would be lovely. ive been out here on my own for awhile now."

he smiled. "its the last on the left."

Octavian had started cooking something for him. he didn't really know what he'd like so he went for the safe option of chicken.

he glanced back at him, moving slightly so he could see. he was soon finished with the food and plated it then turned and handed it to him.

he made his way to the fridge, pulling out a glass bottle filled with a dark red liquid. he set it on the counter to grab a glass and poured.

he watched him, occasionally sipping from the glass. "didn't have to clean it." he didn't mind the fact that he did but he was a guest and he just felt rude seeing him wash it.

it took him aback for a second, even making some of whatever he was drinking trickle out of his mouth due to his jaw going a bit slack. he quickly swallowed and cleaned the side of his mouth. "i am. uhm..you're rather forward aren't you?"

sorry there is no food in my house so i had to walk up to the gas station.// "would make it easier to talk to you. i like when people can get straight to the point."

he blinked a few times. "uhm, i haven't asked your name, have i?"

"Octavian, its nice to meet you Aspen." he grabbed his bottle of red stuff and sat on the other end of the couch, setting the bottle on the side table next to him.

he refilled his glass and leaned back. despite the moment being silent, he was enjoying the other's presence.

"books, there is a tv in your room. there are woods surrounding my home, perhaps there's something there too. unless, that hunter is still out there."

"then enjoy your self dear, there's many things to do out there."

"do you ask that of everyone you meet with fangs?" he smiled slightly. "its like me asking every hairy person i know if they're a werewolf." he chuckled.

"but yes." he stood, grabbing his bottle and taking it to the kitchen to put it away.

"i see. i do appreciate it though."

he came back, smiling and sitting back down on the couch. "i am glad you broke into my home, you make fantastic company."

he looked out the window and sighed. "i should get to bed, you may explore, Aspen. make yourself feel at home" he stood again and wandered off to the back of the cabin.

he walked down some stairs, closing the door after him. the basement was darker then the rest of the house so its where he put his room.

he took his shoes off and placed them at the foot of his bed then laid down and fell asleep.

He woke up to the sound of the floorboards creaking, slowly sitting up he sat for a minute thinking to himself.

he came up a bit later, heading to the kitchen and starting breakfast.

he was done quickly, coming over and setting the plate with a cup of orange juice down on the side table. he looked at him and cupped his face giving his cheek a gentle pat to wake him up.

"Hello, i got you some food." he gestured with a hand, keeping one on his face for a moment before backing up and returning to the kitchen.

he cleaned up the dishes he used to cook the food, sometimes looking back at him just to check up on him. he didn't know how long he was going to stay but he did hope for him, the hunter was no longer out there.

he stepped away, grabbing the hand towel to dry his hands and leaned against the counter. "do you have family? people who would be looking for you?"

he smiled. "i already said you can stay as long as you like. it gets lonely, and i think i could use the company." he shrugged and got off the counter. "i will be going out later, ill be locking the door. if anyone knocks don't answer."

he grabbed his coat and put it on then left the cabin, locking the door and going off into the woods.

hours later he came back, unlocking the door and walking in. he set down a few rabbits he had caught down on the counter and took off his coat.

"hello." he had his sleeves pulled up to his elbows, skinning the rabbits. "were you asleep? did i wake you?"

oki doki// he thought for a moment. "why not, id like to keep the skins, so when you're done with them set them off to the side."

"well it is a wild animal, i doubt it took any baths." he giggled too and put a skin off to the side.

"yes, then throwing it out for the little critters." he smiled, cutting into the rabbit he had.

"that was the idea for dinner." he looked at him. "do you know how to tan hides?"

"something like that. my family moved around, we were nomads. it was important to know how to hunt, skin and tan. when i was born we didn't have fancy things like cars or mobile homes so we used tents made of skinned animals. the furs kept us warm."

for got to have him say where thats how it was where he was//

"sure, but we'd need to go outside. are you sure you want to do that?"

he laughed. "its next to your room. if you need any clothes i have some spares in your dresser, they're more modern if thats your preference, if not perhaps you can use some of my own."

he finished up, cleaning the skins of blood and anymore gore that might be attached.

he cleaned up and sat on the couch, reading a book.

He yawned and closed the book, curling up on himself.

"some teen romance I heard about, uhm.. twilight? It's boring."

"excuse me- there's movies?" He looked up at him. "moving pictures about a boring book?"

"it sounds dumb, is it as boring as the book?" He laughed a bit.

He laughed again. "then I won't. Are there other movies romanizing vampire's and, werewolves? And if so, Why would they do that?"

"why? Why would they do that? I feel gross.." He laughed uncomfortably. "this is why I won't leave the house."

"well i like that last part, i had met a man a long time ago who did, i almost asked him to marry me. though, at that time, it would have been illegal..plus he had a wife and two kids. so.." he made a face then huffed. "you've met many vampires?"

"ouch, i can't imagine being kicked out of my own family.. how did you deal with that?"

he looked concerned, listening carefully. "family does not put bounties on family's heads," his face scrunched up into one of anger. "family is supposed to be there for one another."

he sighed and nodded. "my family never knew. they died before i got the chance to say anything."

"ah, it was years ago..ive gotten over it. but i never got over the man. sometimes i check in on his bloodline. ive seen him in many of their faces."

he smiled, it was sad and soft. "i had met his wife a few times,the first time i met her she had caught us in the kitchen drinking coffee. she seemed so sweet and it made me feel horrible that i was sleeping with her husband."

he chuckled. "yes well, i stopped felling bad once i met her the second time, she was rather rude to her help and the way she spoke to her husband was less than desirable."

"yes, quite the situation." he crossed his legs and put his hands in his lap. " the children where delightful though, adorable little things. the little girl drew me a picture once, i still have it, would you like to see it?"

"follow me." he stood and walked down the to the basement.

the basement was lit with candles, yet it was still dark. there was a bed against the wall, it was pretty reds. he walked over to one of the sides with a nightstand and opened the top drawer and pulled out a picture frame. in the frame was an old yellow paper with childish scribbles and stick figures.

"her name was Alma," he pointed at the little signature in the top left. "she was a little spitfire, she passed at 103 isn't that insane? her brother was shyer, married at 20 to a sweet lady and had a family. got in an accident at 40 and passed."

brb mom wants things for dinner// "yeah.." he sighed and hugged the frame slightly then stuck it back in the nightstand.

"its fine." He looked at him. "do you know how to dance?" He was changing the subject.

he laughed. "id love to, sounds like fun."
