Linkwell, i guess it was just living with it all around me. if he wants something to happen it'll happen, i dont go to church or pray, but that shouldn't madder if he cares for that person

LinkInteresting. I'm personally an all free will guy but I could see that working too I guess. The only issue I have with the idea of predestination is Gods feelings and choices. For example, you might be familiar with Adam and Eve, and the sin they made. If God were to know what would happen, why would he lash out anger? Same scenario if you knew a child would stick a fork in an outlet, you know the beginning and the end of everything that's going to happen but why watch it replay and feel harsh over it.

Linkim not quite sure to be fully honest, for whatever reason he did it we wouldn't know the real answer and for all we know the whole verse could be written wrong, but maybe he did it to show that they had free will, like a point of discipline. they had a choice and they chose. like he gave them a opportunity and they chose. a oportunity like he gives now

LinkWell, the bible does reference multiple verses to free will, and Gods change in attitude. (Jeremiah 18, Exodus 32, 1 Samuel15, and Numbers 23.) Not sure if our will would be a good topic about God if you don't have much faith in him. Maybe I should ask, what do you currently believe in?

Linkhm. i dont know the name even if there is one, i think that people think what they think and that none of them are wrong!. religion is a way to symbolize people. to bring unity in one another. i think that i dont believe in anything but everything. it sounds weird but i can try to explain it better somehow

LinkWell religion could be described that way. Although the bible mentions that whoever follows Christ will have salvation and be saved through him. It's a way for salvation I believe. Man cannot govern on their own, and God has showed that towards us. Man must not live with just bread, but the gospel of Christ.

Linkthat is a good way to say it!, and you are right. my mindset is a little different. i think that Christ is everything. just that "Christ is a different name. if he is responsible for everything then why would he want people to worship someone/ something thats not him?

LinkHe wants people to worship God, no other false prophets. The first and second commandment mentions this well. The problem with other religions is that they teach differently, and can branch off into more of a problem from the truth. )That's why there are so many religions). It may seem impossible to even find the truth, but God directs us towards it and it should be expected to be hard to find. The bible is a map towards the truth, narrow
Matthew 7:14, ESV: For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.
“I love those who love me, and those who diligently seek me will find me. Proverbs 8:17

LinkOur free will leads us to choosing if we will serve God and seek him or turn away. He uses this example as "the goats and sheep". A shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left”.

LinkAnd that is also very correct! for you see i dont care what other people think, and if its in the bible i also do not care, people think what they want , to please where they stand. it gives a reason for life. to give people what they want to hear. its just us to choose what we want to hear or not ,and it gives and promotes psychological and physical well-being, and may motivate people to work for positive social change. in any of my arguments back have you seen a quote? if you stay your life quoting from a book its your choice, like you said "Well, the bible does reference multiple verses to free will, and Gods change in attitude. (Jeremiah 18, Exodus 32, 1 Samuel15, and Numbers 23.) " that i did not check read nor care for. i think that you can chose what you want to hear and love it. were i hear everything and when i die i can see for myself.

LinkWell I don't think that's very reasonable personally. Only cherry picking what you want to hear by what sounds good and playing the spectator card won't really do much. It's like solving a math problem, or doing a project. Letting others discuss what's the answer or how things work would seem reasonable, but not caring would most likely lead to failing. Especially considering the realms of hell and heaven are introduced to our universe, it shouldn't be pushed aside. I'll ask you this though, why don't you care about your life after death as much? I mean, if you look around us everything is in such an orderly neat fashion and designed almost perfectly for our living beings (not including man made governments and solutions).

Linkhm. i guess whatever happens in the after life happens, i do not care for what happens,it would just.. happen. and i wouldn't go out of my way to say that i think that someones religion insnt real (if thats how it sounded sorry! i did not mean it like that)

LinkSo, you value your well being on some certain level, correct? So wouldn't it be reasonable to care what would happen to it for eternity? The concept of eternity (or you might recognize it as infinity) is very concerning. Personally, if I were you I'd start researching the bible a bit, or gain an understanding of at least one belief system and see if it's right or not. Man must live on not bread alone, but salvation. If you look around us nowadays, you'll probably notice things are going bad. This is because humans cannot rule on themselves, we need a God not to blindly believe in one to feel happy, but to look forward too.

Linkwell, i get your points and they are valuable, on my side i have grown learning the "ways" of the lord. i was born and lived in the salvation army, and i do like the way you think! the whole "we need a God not to blindly believe in one to feel happy, but to look forward too." is a great way! and you might of gone to church that is loving and has there thoughts in the right place!. but for some places that isnt it. and in some cases and especially for kids they blindly go into religeon and dont know the wright from the wrong. and its hard to know what verses had been translated right cause the bible has been re-ritten Over 30,000 changes were made, of which more than 5,000 represent differences between the Greek text used for the Revised Version and that used as the basis of the King James Version.
but for me to just face whats comming in the afterlife is a choice i choose to make. i would just wait for christ , the trinity or anything at the other side waiting for me to take me in.
