I remember a few nights ago, I had a dream about being a deer. I was around the same age as my mother and father at the time, my little brother was still a faun. We were grazing, just minding our own business, until my father signals everyone to pay attention and look around us. The meadow was known for being a dangerous place for deer, but...since it was foggy, we had thought it was alright. We heard a loud, high pitched whistle. My father yells and begins to run, telling us to follow. Our herd runs as fast as they could. I kept telling myself not to look behind me but I couldnt help my curiosity and I did. I wish I didn't. The sight of a big dog, its jaw seemingly unhinged and it's fangs bared. I could almost smell another deer in my herd's blood on its sharp, jagged teeth. I froze.

I held my scream as the dog's teeth dug into my skin, deep into my flesh. At that point, I wasn't sure if it was a nightmare, or if it was real. I felt the dog growl, it's teeth digging in harder as it pressed me to the hard grass. just then, my father runs forward and throws the wolf off of me with his antlers, yelling at me to run away with the rest of the herd. On shaky legs, I do so. That scar was bleeding, my own crimson blood staining the once green grass underneath me as I ran with all force, not daring to look back, even when I heard the pained screams of my father.
