anyways this site was the thing that got me into digital art during covid during my 8th grade year where I was forced to do schooling digitally it kept me sane and gave me friends when I needed them the most unlike a lot people my age, I wasn't groomed (on this site anyways), I wasn't bullied a lot or put on a pedestal that turned me into a power tripper or anything like that. I was always kind of just someone in the background who wasn't someone that could make masterpieces or art people looked up to, but I wasn't someone shunned or someone who was known for getting into drama and hurting others either. That being said, having a website when I was younger where people actually cared about my art and had a social aspect a lot of other places don't have anymore was what got me to start truly learning art instead of just doodling cats and dogs on the margins of my homework

Honestly I'm still kind of confused and unsure as to what exactly Flipanim's post means, because like -Is he actually 100% planning on trying to bring the site back or what -Does this mean accounts will be fully gone and be impossible to see or will there be a way to view them after the shutdown but just be unable to make new accounts or log in -will animations just be like how it was back in the day where you could download it and not much else Now I'm regretting giving my childhood account @ren-the-derp away because now I can't get the data for it basically meaning I'm going to lose everything from my account I made when I was like 13 💔

I wish more social media places online were as social as flipanim was, I'm not sure what about it made it the way it was, but I've never really found another place exactly like it. A lot of sites use algorithms and try to force your view of things and the kind of people you encounter to try and force you to stay on their site as long as possible, along with making users pay to have a good experience or constantly be bombarded with advertisements, and it does suck to see one of the last sites that didn't feel like one giant product meant to suck every last bit of your money out of you and try to make you stare at your screen on it all the time, but at the same time, it had a lot of issues that do need to be fixed if it is ever going to be a site where people can be truly safe on

That being said I've also seen a lot of people who are victim blaming or lashing out on the people that have given criticism to the site and are saying it is their fault for flipanim's account and comment removal, but at the end of the day it was the owner's own decision to shut the site down, because he realized that he wasn't able to keep up with predators and other people doing things they shouldn't do on this site. When corperations like Roblox mess up and allow predators and grooming to run rampant on their games and sites, people voiced their opinions then, and just because the owner didn't expect things like this to happen doesn't mean that people who got groomed or exposed to pornographic content should just stay silent either. People like Kaifurry can easily make new accounts still, and without the owner or moderators on this site at all times, people like that can keep coming back whenever they want to.

I'm not gonna lie besides being on flipanim I am barely online at all. Most people who follow my off-site accounts barely see me post and I sometimes take days to respond to people on discord because I only check my personal discord that I talk to my partner on, which I am not going to give out to a bunch of random people on flipanim (besides Terrance because I accidentally gave them my personal discord but oh well) I am considering making a discord server where people and put their archived posts and flipanim screenshots so we can have a place to keep them without them getting lost so if someone wants to add something to a wiki page later on it can be done
