Redacted is actually a version of Ink- as you can see, his creepy face is a reference to the very same creator. Honestly he kinda reminds me of Pale- .o. U H - ANYWAY- This is a version of Ink that DIDN'T rip apart his soul, but lost a lot of emotions anyway. The white void indeed drove him insane, and he ended up killing everybody else in this same void. He had been there until Core!Frisk had taken him out of this void and offered him home in the Omega Timeline. He lived there for a while, but his HATE toward himself and that void was getting to him. Eventually he became very hostile, forcing Core!Frisk to put him in an empty AU/Timeline to assure everybody else's safety. He spent time there, alone. Soon he found the Core and found curiosity in it. Not long afterward, he was able to see Gaster, who offered him a chance at forgetting what he had done. Of course, he agreed. Gaster had asked his name, but when he tried to say his name, it came out as {REDACTED}

Gaster ran test on Redacted, and soon noticed glitches around him but not on him. One of these glitches caught R and he felt a lot of pain, and this pain caused the HATE to grow even more until it became a permanent mark on his eye. It is unknown, however, how the R shape in his eye came to be, but some believe that it has something to do with the next thing I am going to tell you. Gaster had noticed the HATE and decided to see if he could get rid of it with the extractor, but he hadn't known that somebody had used it before him and forgot to take the trait out. It had been the trait of a power hungry human, and they were trying to stop this same human from doing regretful things. Since he didn't know it was there, this trait had been transferred into R's own soul, creating the blue eye that you see. The HATE and POWER (megalomaniac soul btw) created a VERY violent being that had immediately gone on a Multiversal Genocide Route. Seeing this, Nightmare took interest in the skeleton.

Nightmare found REDACTED while he was in a battle with the very same Gaster that tried to help him. And of course, like the jerk he is, Nightmare just kinda sat and watched. It was clear that if Gaster lost against REDACTED he could have a few difficulties with keeping himself in one piece. In order to try and stop him, he found a way to fuse with R. This process was very painful and caused R to lose his hands-- alternate ones being an extension of Gaster's ability-- and for some of his bones to go black. In addition, the red eyes you see in that picture are the eyes of an angry Gaster trying to calm his infused friend down. REDACTED had joined the Bad Guys crew, but wasn't loyal to them. In fact, he secretly plans to take Nightmare's place and rise from there.
